A Fruitful Closure: MCGI Culminates 2020 in Year-End Thanksgiving

As 2020 inches to a close, the Members Church of God International (MCGI) prepares for the upcoming Fourth Quarter Special International Thanksgiving on December 25 to 27. The big event will be held through virtual conferencing.

Despite the pandemic that has affected physical gatherings, the brethren are preparing for the thanksgiving which is the last for 2020. Overall Servant Bro. Eli Soriano and Assistant to Overall Servant Bro. Daniel Razon will discuss new topics and will continue to answer questions from the congregation.

In addition, this last quarter’s thanksgiving will celebrate the many achievements that MCGI has reached with God’s help and mercy.

Online Evangelization Efforts Continue

For the brethren in MCGI, listening to the sessions of the Mass Indoctrination serves as a refresher, a way to strengthen their faith in the teachings of the Church.

The Bible Expositions, Bible Studies, and the Mass Indoctrination were held daily through its livestreaming channels on Facebook and YouTube. On an average, around 60,000 viewers tuned in to each live broadcast streamed via the internet and satellite channels. Additional schedules of these online activities were set up, especially when the lockdown took effect in many countries and forced people to stay in their homes.

The Mass Indoctrination was held thrice this year, and had yielded more than 15,000 new members in the Church. More are still awaiting to receive baptism abroad, especially those who were not able to join the online ceremonies synchronously and are still finishing up a few more sessions.

Bible Expositions and Bible Studies have been customized to cater to specific language groups, which is why there are separate schedules for the Americas, Europe, South and Central Asia, and the Pacific.

Meaningful Sabbath, Grateful Thoughts

As MCGI continues to hold gatherings in virtual mode, members of the Church turn to all available technology to stay connected and to learn wisdom from the Bible.

Assistant Overall Servant Bro. Daniel Razon celebrated his 37th year of service to God last November 28. Days prior to his Sabbath celebration, Bro. Daniel hosted charity works for a whole week through the Serbisyong Kapatiran program. These included giving out free tablets and the granting of small wishes of individuals and families for livelihood support.

As the last quarter thanksgiving nears, the brethren in MCGI have begun preparing for the three-day ceremony. Some have already expressed their excitement and gratefulness for this coming thanksgiving.

Shiela Ysabelle N. Masicat of Woking, United Kingdom says she is thankful for everything God has given her and her loved ones. “I thank God for my life and all the good opportunities that enable me to continue to serve Him,” she added.

“I have witnessed God’s love, mercy, and protection amidst the pandemic,” Bernice Atienza of Jersey City, USA mused. “Because of the lockdown, Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel were able to reach out to more people online. As a result, more viewers tuned in and were later baptized,” she added.
