Bro. Eli Soriano and ‘Ang Dating Daan’ Honored in 34th Dangal ng Bayan Awards

Bro. Eliseo Soriano and his Ang Dating Daan program were honored with top prizes in the 34th Dangal ng Bayan Awards on February 27 this year at the AFP Theater, Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Bro. Eli, the Presiding Minister to Members Church of God International (MCGI), received the Best Bible-Based TV/Radio Evangelist title while The Old Path was cited as the Best Longest Running Religious Program.

The first biggest local win for the international evangelist in 2014, Bro. Eli’s latest honor came as his first from Dangal ng Bayan Awards.

Ang Dating Daan, which started as a radio show in 1980 and later as a television program in 1983, through the years has built a strong following in the Philippines.

To date, The Old Path airs worldwide in different languages via television, satellite, and the Internet.

The annual event is spearheaded by the National Consumer Affairs Foundation of the Philippines.

UNTV, The Old Path’s home, was hailed as the No. 1 Television Station Committed to Truth and Genuine Public Service.

Daily, free medical and legal programs, bus rides, and the country’s first free Transient Home are among the Public Service Network’s various services.

Other big winners include Kaagapay, hosted by Lakay “Rolly” Gonzalo, Annie Rentoy, and Dr. Daisy Lim-Camitan, which was named the Best Public Service Oriented TV Program laurel.

Kaagapay features different government agencies and institutions so people can ask them about their problems via phone call or text messaging.

The Dangal ng Bayan Awards is an annual event held by the National Consumer Affairs Foundation of the Philippines.
