“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” -- Galatians 6:10
The Members Church of God International (MCGI), which works primarily in the worldwide evangelization to save souls, maintains numerous charity and outreach programs both in the Philippines and some parts of the world geared to help the marginalized sectors of society.
MCGI believes that part of this mission is to provide utmost care to the poor, the neglected and orphaned children, and the abandoned widows. In being true to its commitment, the Church of God offers its help to any one, regardless of age, sex and religious affiliations.
Despite consisting of mostly-poor members, one of the similarities it shares with the first century Church, MCGI continues to extend help to many people even if it means more hard work for its leaders and members to pay for the expenses.
In the true essence of sincerity, Bro. Eli Soriano, MCGI’s Presiding Minister, together with Bro. Daniel Razon, the Vice-Presiding Minister, shoulder almost all major expenses of the charitable and social service activities of the organization.
To reach out to those in need, MCGI partners with UNTV, a Philippine media station whose thrust is centered in public service. Daily at the station’s public service programs, social care and outreach projects are sustained through the consistent financial and volunteer support from MCGI.
MCGI is also a strong partner to the foundation that Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon helped establish, the Kamanggagawa Foundation (Co-Worker Foundation). Through the foundation, MCGI is able to serve many people with public charity projects that are matchless in terms of the frequency where social welfare assistance that are costly and hard to maintain are offered. Its own charitable arm, ADD Foundation, provides outreaches for its many poor and low-income members by giving medical to legal assistance, and many such services.
Among these humanitarian services are the charity homes for the senior citizens and orphaned children and teenagers; transient homes; medical missions; full college scholarship; start-up capital for livelihood projects; vocational trainings for the differently-abled; free legal assistance; free bus, jeepney, and train rides for commuters and senior citizens, and; and free Bible for everyone.
All these efforts sum up to what MCGI strives for– to be always faithful and obedient to the Word of God.
