Newly Baptized Testimonials: July 18, 2014

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on July 18, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Adriel Benzoin, 17, Former KNC, Bataan Province

On Being Baptized
Based on what I have been hearing from Bro. Eli, I know that he says the truth so I decided to get baptized. My heart was light, and I felt that I was cleansed.

I got to listen to Bro. Eli through my parents, who are already members of the Church. Also, through UNTV. I was a former member of Kawan ng Cordero or the Children’s Ministry.

On MCGI Leaders
My prayer is for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel to always have good health. May they continue to lead our fellowmen in learning God’s words. I also pray that God will guide them all the time.

Sis. Alodia Aure, 26, Former Born Again, Bataan Province

On Being Baptized
I wanted to get baptized because I want to be righteous in God’s eyes.

I very much wanted to learn the verses or words of God, because I learned, after staying there for nine years, that the teachings of the Born Again group are false. They will only read one verse and then will tell us a story derived from that.

It’s different here in “Ang Dating Daan” [Church of God] because everything is based on the Bible, so we can say that it’s truthful.

When I got baptized, I was overjoyed. I felt that my sins were all washed away. I also know that what I have accepted in my life is the true God in the Bible.

I was able to listen to Bro. Eli through our television. My parents are members of the Church, so they would always watch him. After listening consistently, I decided to get baptized.

On MCGI Leaders
To Bro. Eli, I hope he will persevere and do what he needs to do because this way, he’s able to help and bring people to a steadfast life.

Bro. Melbert Baquir, 22, Former Church of God World Missions Society Member, Manila

On Being Baptized
There was lightness in my being when I got baptized.

I used to be a Catholic. But I converted to Born Again; their church name was Church of God World Missions Society. After some time I joined [the said] Christian [group].

I joined MCGI and got baptized because I was looking for the true religion. I thought that [my former religion’s] teachings were genuine because I learned a lot from their Bible studies. However, I noticed that there was still a lot of false information.

At first, I didn’t really want to attend services here at MCGI because I was still absorbing the doctrines of [my former church]. I felt at that time that their teachings were okay. There were some teachings, however, that are not based from the Bible, like the way they baptize new members.

Also, they have two “Gods”: God of the Father and God of the Mother. They said that the “God of the Mother” who is in heaven, is the chairwoman of the “We Love You Foundation,” Zahng Gil-Jah. I disputed that and said “How could that happen?”

They told me there is a second coming of Christ, which they consider is another Korean named Christ Zhang Hong. They are Koreans. I asked why it wasn’t in the Bible and they said Jesus wasn’t in the Old Testament, and the Christ Zhang Hong is the one in the Bible.

I was invited by my co-worker to attend indoctrination here. That was my first time listening to Bro. Eli.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel will continue their worldwide evangelization so that people who believe and have faith in God will understand His words.
