Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on September 5, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Miriam Tagra, 40, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I usually get to watch Bro. Eli’s programs on television, since 14 years ago, more or less. I’ve been married for 14 or 13 years as well.

There was this ache in my heart, as if the [teachings] were getting through to me. As time went by, I can say that I’m really being called [by God] as I had heavy trial, and until now I’m facing it. Perhaps that’s how He said to me, “You’re really erring,” so I decided to be a member.

On Being Baptized

First of all, I felt like having an out of body experience; I can’t fully explain how it was. I was in tears, but I also felt like I was floating.

On MCGI Leaders

I hope that God won’t take him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] from us just yet; we all know it might happen someday, but I hope just not yet. He was like the pioneer. I wish he’ll be given more strength so he can continue to convince more people, like my mother who already passed away as a member of the Church.

Bro. Sherwin Angelo, 17, Former Iglesia Ni Cristo, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I joined the Church of God because I saw that this is the true Church, and it’s where you’ll find the true teachings that will lead to salvation.

I started listening to Bro. Eli through television; it was the same time I entered INC around 2009; I was 13 years old.

At first, I thought that this was wrong and that was right. Then I also got to watch the show “D X Man.” I was mad because I thought the program was designed to attack the Iglesia ni Cristo. But as time passed by, as I listened… and the Youtube videos also helped greatly as there are many videos there, I got enlightened, listening for so long.

Thanks be to God He called me unto the true Church.

On Being Baptized

I’m really happy because finally I’m here, a member. I’ve been indoctrinated longer than the average because of my schedule at school. But in God’s will, I was baptized.

On MCGI Leaders

To Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I hope that you will be given more strength, longer life to teach the pure truth and expose the corruption of other religions.

Bro. Roland Navarro, 66, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

When I started [listening] I was still very young. I used to watch Bro. Eli’s debates on television. I was really amused watching him. However, I didn’t take him seriously before, as I was young and I had a job.

Now, almost every day I watch him; it’s like he became my merienda. Every time I turn on the television, I want to be tuned into him. It’s because I feel that my sins are lessened.

I have a lot of vices: women, gambling and drinking. In other words, worldliness was in me already. But as I listen to him, it makes me feel like I’m being changed. I learned how to pray before I sleep; when I wake up, I pray also. I am thankful to him because my outlook in life was changed when it comes to my soul.

On Being Baptized

I am very thankful that I was able to fulfill the promises I made. I felt something left me, like my being hot-headed, things like that. I felt a lot of emotions in my heart when I got baptized. I felt different inside me. I said, “I got near [to God].” I hope He will not forsake me, that He would always guide me.

On MCGI Leaders

I am very thankful to them, for their preaching. I wish that they will always be in good health, have bodily strength, and that they may continuously be guided by the Lord that they may continue leading many more people to what is right, to the right [way] of God. I hope that no harm will come to their lives, and that they may always stay that way.

Bro. Roland Briñas, 25, Former Christ Covenant Mission Church Member, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

The truth is, I have friends and relatives of friends that are already members. Then one time I got to listen on the radio and through television.

Now, I tried to patch the bits and pieces of what I heard from it [The Old Path] and compared it to the teachings of my previous religion. It made more sense; it provided a clearer picture. That’s when I decided to attend one [indoctrination] session.

The very first time I heard the indoctrination, I felt like something sprung within me; my mind was opened. After that, I tried to ask one of the brethren in Carmona Coordinating Center if I could have a copy of the indoctrination session, so I could fully understand them. He said they don’t give out CD’s of the indoctrination, so I decided to attend the next session and so on, until I came to this day that I am now baptized.

Joining the Church also got me thinking not just about me, but my family, my children. I want to pass on this faith to them. By the time they are old enough to have families of their own, this faith will remain with them, and not the misguided one wherein I was born and raised. So this moment, I am really thankful to God.

On Being Baptized

I felt light; it was the first time I felt like that in my life. The truth is, when we were travelling yesterday, we were really in a hurry. I was from Antipolo because I had work and had to rush to the meet-up place because they were waiting for me. I haven’t even gotten the chance to take a shower.

It was a long travel, but we got here safely, and the thing is when we arrived I never had any change of heart. I had no doubts about what I was doing. The determination was in me; I thought to myself that this is the chance for me to finally give meaning to the things I don’t understand. So this is it. I’m full of joy, an unexplainably great feeling.

On MCGI Leaders

All I can say to him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] is I hope that there will be more people like him. His preaching makes people understand. He is a blessed person. Praise the Lord for he has given Bro. Eli wisdom, and uses him as an instrument to care for people’s souls. Thanks be to God that I have heard his words through Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

Bro. Azriel Aquino, 17, Former Born Again, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

I have long since believed in this. Last year, when I was still in 4th year high school, I already knew that this is the [true] religion, but I just didn’t join because I thought religion was irrelevant.

When I learned, watching on Youtube, that baptism is needed, I went to [a locale] on August 21 and said that I wanted to be baptized. But they said that I needed to be indoctrinated first. So that’s the reason why I became a member. I don’t know if I would die before I got baptized, so I really went on with the baptism.

It was on Youtube, on the Internet – when my father watched – that [I got to listen]. When I was in the Born Again, people said that “That religion is fake; it’s a cult.”

However, when I got to listen [to Bro. Eliseo Soriano], everything is in the Bible. Everything Bro. Eli says is really in the Bible, so it’s no regard dubious.

I was a Roman Catholic at first. Then I got baptized in the Born Again at age 6 or 7. My father is Catholic; my mother is Born Again as well as our whole household.

On my mother side, I’m the first [to be a member here]. On my father’s side, he has a brother, my uncle, who joined here. He’s in the coordinating center in Pangasinan.

On Being Baptized

I feel somewhat different because I’m with so many different faces, and I’m alone; I don’t know anyone.

But still I’m thankful to God because I feel comfortable, though I don’t know anyone. Then, everyone cares for each other – an essence [of brotherhood] that is not being taught in other churches.

On MCGI Leaders

Many thanks because God used him as an instrument to teach the doctrines to all. I hope they won’t give up, won’t lose hope even if progress may seem slow.

In the Catholic, their progress in [conversion] is great because in the Church of God, people who do not wish to leave their sins will have a hard time. As Bro. Eli said, what we do here has quality since they are in the Bible, commandments of God. Other people do not join because they have sins. They can’t forget their women [and other vices], that’s why they’re still Catholics.

Bro. Jaycee Cubilo, 16, Former Atheist, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I wanted to know the truth. It was because of what I previously believed in and now I wanted to really know the truth.

I was an atheist because I didn’t believe in Him since I was in second grade up to high school. I was so focused on my studies, and on the scientific explanation on things.

When I was younger I got to watch National Geographic from cable TV and I depended more on the findings presented by scientists.

The turning point was when I was in 3rd year high school. I started to question things: Why did the Bible exist? I started doing my own research, and went to enter different religious groups. I didn’t get baptized in those groups; I just wanted to listen to their teachings.

My aunt and I live in the same house. She listens to [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on the radio, so I get to listen as well. Whenever I would hear Bro. Eli’s [preaching], it would make me think. I would say to myself, “Right. He’s got a point.”

My aunt has the radio on loud, that I hear it as well. [Still I would say,] “Auntie, please crank up the volume.”

On Being Baptized

Of course I’m really happy; it was very uplifting, and I feel so enlightened.

On MCGI Leaders

Thank you very much for helping people and for exposing the truth. God Bless!
