A New Year and Millions of Reason to Thank God

The first quarter of the year has been very fruitful and was filled with God’s lovingkindness for the Members Church of God International (MCGI). For these and innumerable other reasons, MCGI is set to celebrate its 1st Quarter Special Thanksgiving of God’s People on April 1–3, 2022.

With the help and mercy of the Almighty, during the first quarter, MCGI was able to pursue its global activities — the worldwide evangelization and charitable efforts, regular online gatherings and events, and the launch of a new television and online program, the MCGI Cares.

What makes this upcoming three-day event more special is that it coincides with the celebration of the Christian New Year on April 1, God willing.

Hope in God’s love and wisdom

Despite the ordeal that the world faces today, MCGI remains steadfast in faith and continues to hold on to God’s love for His people. Brother Daniel Razon, servant of MCGI, constantly admonishes the brethren and sparks hope in their hearts through the topics he discusses in every Church gatherings.

These gatherings serve as a venue for the brethren to help and look after each other, as it is the will of God written in Hebrews 10:24-25,

²⁴ And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
²⁵ Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

The Serbisyong Kapatiran (SK), or Brotherly Service, has also been a constant support for the brethren in the Church. Every weekday, brethren from across the globe gather virtually with Brother Daniel to check and remind one another through the songs of faith, through the stories featured in Kristiano Drama and Story of my Faith, and through the updates and reports being given by a featured local chapter of the Church.

Through this simple program, many feel that they are in the midst of the congregation again, though still not physically, and it helps them a lot in further strengthening their faith.

The start of another year

April 1, 2022 marks the 1st of Nisan 5782, the new year that the Lord Jesus Christ taught and which was celebrated by earlier Christians. The biblical significance of this event is written in the book of Exodus 12:1-2,

¹ And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,
² This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Instead of the usual grand and noisy celebrations, MCGI celebrates the event the Christian way — through prayers and thankful voices unto the Lord. Falling on the first day of MCGI’s International Thanksgiving, the events will be celebrated jointly.

Continued charity and new public service program

The legacy of good works continues with MCGI Cares. 

From its initial global launch on March 14, 2021, it has been a year since MCGI opened the MCGI Free Store for the benefit of the struggling population. In a span of a year, it has already provided more than 1.5 million free items to over sixty thousand beneficiaries through its more than 700 operating branches around the world.

Moreover, other charitable efforts such as the MCGI Wish-Granting program, the MCGI Feeding Program and the MCGI Free Potable Water project continue to offer relief to many people in need, especially those in remote places.

MCGI also introduced a new television and online program, the MCGI Cares live. Its first episode was broadcast at UNTV UHF Channel 37 and streamed live on both Youtube and Facebook.  MCGI Cares is a program with multiple segments all centered around public service and Christian living.

Online global evangelization

MCGI is still as persistent as ever in propagating and teaching the Gospel of Christ in all nations via television and the internet. The monthly Mass Indoctrination sessions have brought more and more individuals back to serving the Lord, among them were the indigenous people in 20 sitios in Central Luzon provinces, Philippines. 

During the first quarter of 2022, MCGI was able to hold Mass Indoctrination thrice, the third of which is currently ongoing (as of writing date). MCGI Bible Exposition and Bible Study were also held regularly.

The program Ang Dating Daan streams 24/7 via the MCGI Channel on YouTube. MCGI also continually streams its hourly Community Prayer and Global Prayer for Humanity every 9:30 p.m. PHT.

MCGI events such as the “Pagsulong”, a commencement event of the MCGI Music Ministry, also took place this quarter.

The brethren in the Church also face struggles and problems in life the same way that other people do, but with God’s love, the congregation face these challenges with thankful and merry hearts. Knowing that in MCGI, they are never alone.

The MCGI’s Special Thanksgiving of God’s People is a quarterly three-day event wherein the whole congregation, as a nation, gives thanks to God (Jeremiah 30:19, Colossians 3:15).
