A Father Loves in Many Ways

A father feels no greater love for anyone than for his children, and there are many ways by which he shows them love and affection. The moment a man becomes a father, he leaves a life of freedom to head a family. He guides and helps his children get through difficult situations. A father’s love for his children is boundless and limitless.

In the Members Church of God International (MCGI), mothers and fathers are esteemed highly. They are celebrated every day — a day is not enough to celebrate a lifetime of their love. Watch these brethren and children share their fondest memories of their fathers and their thanksgiving to God for giving them a father like no other.

From juggling finances, jobs, responsibilities, and personal challenges, fathers bear the burden no one else in the family carries. Despite having worries, a father’s heart will always have a soft spot for a smile on his child’s face.

Little Keisuke Huidem’s fondest moments with his father happen when they play games together. Despite many hardships, his dad is always kind, always finding ways to spend time with him.

The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
(Proverbs 23:24, KJV)

A loving father will go the distance to provide for his children. Though a father fears to be separated from loved ones, he will do what it takes to give them a better life.

Loreal Enriquez often spends months without her father, so she is always excited whenever she joins the family to fetch him at the airport. She is grateful because she is inspired by his continuous efforts to provide for their family.

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
(Malachi 4:6, KJV)

Hardworking is how Patrick Mendoza describes his father. Though he is no longer strong like when he was young, he makes sure that his family will always have food on the table.

We may not know what goes behind such hard work, but a father’s diligence and perseverance is truly one of a kind.

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
(Luke 15:20, KJV)

For every grief-stricken moment, Gabriel Luna’s father is the first to comfort him. No matter how difficult life may get, a father will always come to the aid of his child.

Every moment a child spends with his father is a learning moment. A father will always guide his child and teach valuable life lessons.

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
(Proverbs 1:8, KJV)

A father who is God-fearing leads his family in faith and in service to God. He loves his children wholeheartedly, a duty he has committed unto the Lord.

Sisters Bea and Bezzel Dadula are grateful to God for a father who supports them as they continue to fulfil their duties and obligations in the Church.

(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
(1 Timothy 3:5, KJV)

The most cherished moments of a child and a father are their adventures together. Nicole Vergara’s fondest memories with her father were their trips to Brazil.

Although her father was able to take her to many places, the best so far was when he brought their family close to God. With the help of God, they are able to serve God as a family.

Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
(Proverbs 17:6, KJV)

“Every day is a day to love a father and a mother!”
Bro. Eli Soriano

The love of a father surmounts boundaries. He is willing to give his time and strength for the sake of his child. A parent will always give selflessly through constant effort and support, so it is important to show parents that their efforts are well-appreciated. Thank God for loving parents every single day.

A Mother’s Love

A woman becomes a mother on the day that she conceives a child. For nine months, she has to endure certain inconveniences and discomforts, while observing care and caution for the sake of the child in her womb. But all the travails that go with child-bearing are readily forgotten the moment she gives birth to her child. Nothing is remembered but the joy and bliss that the little fragile creature brings.

A mother’s love can be felt in the simplest of things, from home-cooked meals to folded laundry, and warm hugs to comforting words. Though there are days when these small efforts go unappreciated, a mother’s love is one of the truest forms of love one can have. A virtuous woman, according to the Bible, is described in Proverbs 31:10-31.

In the Members Church of God International (MCGI), mothers are celebrated and loved every day. Watch these messages of love and appreciation of some of our brethren and children in the Church for their mothers, each expressing their gratitude to God for having them in their lives.

“Great are mothers for humanity,
they should not only be remembered for one day.”

Bro. Eli Soriano

She is always so funny and exciting. She is so sweet.

When asked for a word to describe her mother, little Sherilean Salvador said her mother is funny. Her mother never fails to make her laugh and smile, that is why she is thankful to God for her.

Behind her tired eyes, a mother makes time to craft creative activities just to get her child excited. Seeing her child happy is consoling. From silly faces to amusing jokes, a mother will do anything to put a smile on her child’s face.

Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.

(Proverbs 23:25, KJV)

“I hope you stay strong and healthy forever and ever.”

For Dhanes Mangiliman, her mother is someone she and her family can’t live without. As she’s the person who looks after them, she describes her mother as nice.

The selfless acts of a mother show the great care she has for her loved ones. She is a heroine. Even though it could mean less comfort for her, a mother finds power in taking care of her loved ones and making sure they are safe and secure. It is through kindness that she is able to fulfill her duty as a caretaker of the household.

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

(Proverbs 31:28, KJV)

“My mom really means the whole world to me.”

Without the love, care, and support of Ron Rodriguez’s mother towards him and his siblings, he believes they wouldn’t be where they are today. He is thankful to God that they were able to achieve the things they want in life through his mother.

From a child’s first crawl to his first few steps, until he leaves her sight to pursue his dreams, a mother will always be his support, even as he has achieved his goals.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

(Proverbs 31:27, KJV)

“She’s not just a mother but also a friend to me.”

For Sofia Louise Rodriguez, her mother is someone she can completely rely on. She knows her as her first teacher and is proud to say that until today, she still learns a lot from her.

Mothers teach us lessons that they have already learned themselves. They go through the pain to spare us from the things they have suffered. It is in a mother’s nature to protect her child at all cost.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

(Proverbs 31:26, KJV)

I pray that God will bless you with a long, happy, and healthy life.

Survivor this is how Elisa Dallo describes her mother. She always includes her mother in her prayers, for her to have a long, happy, and healthy life.

Scars that heal, tears that dry, and broken hearts that mend are the things that mothers experience. Although they undergo immense pressure, they are able to handle problems with calm and grace with the help of God. They are beautiful survivors that smile through all kinds of pain.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

(Proverbs 31:25, KJV)

My mom is a constant source of love, comfort, and support.”

For Maru Oritz, she is indebted to her mother for the sacrifices that she had made. According to her, those are debts she cannot repay. She will always be thankful to God for her mother.

A mother is the best gift God has for a child. For a child to have someone who will love him through and through, in spite of his shortcomings, is a blessing to thank God for every single day.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

(Isaiah 49:15, KJV)

My mom is an inspiration to my life.”

Mark Elliar knows that his mother worked very hard abroad for their family. This got him and his siblings to study, eat, and have what they need and want. She continues to be his life’s inspiration.

A mother loses time for herself to work for the needs of her family. In order to provide for her children, a mother sometimes does the most painful thing leave her children. As time passes, children often forget the efforts of their parents, unmindful of the sleepless nights and tiring days parents go through to give only the best for their children.

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

(Proverbs 31:31, KJV)

“My mother is everything to me.”

Jeffrey Eaily vividly recalls how at one time he got sick, his mother never left his side. For that and a whole lot more, he considers that his mother plays an important role in his life.

In times of sickness, a child will always look for his mother. She is a child’s thermometer, medicine, doctor, and everything in between. Throughout a person’s life, a mother’s care is a source of comfort for any ache or pain.

As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

(Isaiah 66:13, KJV)

My mom is a hero because she helps me when I am hurt.

Elisa Remanases described her mother as love. Elisa says her mother showers her with love and care especially when she is hurt. She is her hero.

When an infant wakes up in the middle of the night, he finds solace in his mother’s soft embrace. When play-time gets reckless, mom speeds to her child’s rescue. During our most pain-stricken days, a mother’s care is always ready to offer relief. A mother’s love can stop the loudest of tantrums and cover the deepest of scars.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

(Proverbs 31:21, KJV)

Love Your Parents Everyday

“Every day is a day to love a father and a mother!”

Bro. Eli Soriano

Friends may come and go, relationships can turn sour, but the love of a parent to a child lasts a long time. Though such love is repaid by fits of rage and protest, a parent will always treat his child with gentleness.

Thank God every day for your parents and tell them how much you love them. Pray for them always.

An Old-Fashioned Way to Share the Love: MCGI Brethren Share Their Love Letters

Through small and enormous acts, people express their feelings of affection and love in many ways. One of the old-fashioned ways to show admiration to someone special is through the art of writing love letters.

Handwritten love letters are the oldest, yet sweetest, forms of expressing affection. With love letters, you can make a friend smile, melt a father’s heart, and bring back the spark to a dying flame.

Some brethren from Members Church of God International (MCGI) share love letters with our readers. Some were addressed to their friends, to parents and to the special love of their lives telling their truest feelings, their hopes for one another, and the secrets of the heart that the mouth cannot speak.

God’s words have made lasting impacts on the lives of the brethren in the Church. With this, we lovingly share handwritten love letters inspired by the original book of love, hoping to keep sharing the love that has been given to us by the One who loved us first (1 John 4:19).

Ephesians 5:25, 28-29, KJV

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

28-29 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Ephesians 5:22-23, KJV

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Proverbs 17:17, KJV

A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Psalms 103:17, KJV

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

I Peter 5:5, KJV

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

I Thessalonians 5:12-13, KJV

And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

Ephesians 6:1-3, KJV

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Exodus 20:12, KJV

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Proverbs 22:6, KJV

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I John 4:21, KJV

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

I John 4:7, KJV

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Psalms 119:30, KJV

I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

1 Timothy 4:14-16, KJV

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Romans 12:10, KJV

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Love Letter from Heaven

“The words of God in the Bible are love letters of God from the heavens to the Earth, and to those people who love Him.” — Bro. Eli Soriano

God’s love transcends from eternity to eternity. His unconditional love can be felt in all things that He created, seen or unseen. In an act of true love, God not only wrote a love letter to His people on Earth but a library of books filled with heavenly words of benevolence and called it the Bible.

Simple and timeless truths are written by God in the Bible to remind His people just how great His love is for those that love Him.

Love letters are the sweetest reminders of one’s fondness for another. No matter the distance, no matter how much time has passed, love letters are physical reminders of adoration that reassure our hearts that we are always loved.

The Bible is the best love letter we can receive. It continuously reminds us, time and time again, of God’s love through His beautiful words, promises, and reassurances.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: March 4, 2016

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on March 4, 2016 at the Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Reynaldo De Torres, 43, Former Catholic, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

I want my life to change.

I was deep in vices. That’s why I wanted to be closer to our Lord that he may help me set my life views straight, that I may not anymore return to my old ways, that I may be able to stop with my vices. Also, I want my family’s life to be better with the help of the Lord’s love.

When I was still single, I attended Church gatherings with my niece. However when I already got a job, I kind of drifted away from it.

I soon had a family and went back to the province. That’s when I got into vices, by befriending bad company.

– – –

The time came when I felt that I had to stop, because I was doing evil things already, and that I needed to change.

I also want to give more consideration to my wife, she being in Catholicism and me being in the Church of God. It wouldn’t be well for her if I were to lay everything on her at once.

I’ll just try to prepare her mind, and give in to her requests, and it is I that would have to show her what is right, God willing.

On Being Baptized

I felt like a load has been lifted off my chest. I felt that the old things that I used to do, it’s as if they were instantly gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I am thankful to him because he is a person who is aided by the Lord to preach to his fellow Filipinos and to his fellowmen as well. I thank him because I am now a member of the Church of God.

Bro. Elmer Dimaano, 46, Former Born Again, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

I am a seafarer and when I was on board our ship, I had a co-worker who is a brother-in-faith here. He gave me recorded Bible Expositions for me to watch.

I watched I think a Bible Exposition which was conducted in the Araneta Coliseum, in Batangas, in Olongapo, as well as in South East Asia. Also, those that were held in Hong Kong and various other places.

I was really inspired by the Q&A, because those were the questions that I wanted to be answered by my former religion, but couldn’t.

So when I discovered that, I got really inspired by those questions and by the answers of Bro. Eli. I think I said to myself that time, he is the true preacher who carries the truth.

On Being Baptized

I felt that my mind was unburdened, and that all the emotional baggage in my heart was gone because I was able to let go of any ill feelings. That’s what I felt.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank them because I have finally found the true preachers and the word of God.

Sis. Leila Carlos, 39, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

I voluntarily attended Bible studies. I was amazed by the teachings that I heard from Bro. Daniel and Bro. Eli Soriano, so that’s why I joined The Old Path (the Church of God International).

On Being Baptized

I felt light after being immersed in the water.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I am thankful that I am now a member here in their ministry.

Sis. Norma Tejones, 49, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s because of listening to the doctrines. My knowledge about our Lord increased through those.

We watched on television. We always watch TV and sometimes we would click the channel [Ang Dating Daan or The Old Path] is on.

Then, someone invited us here. She is our neighbor, whom we call “nanay” (mother).

On Being Baptized

I felt light, and I was crying actually.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

All I can say is that I have been well enlightened.

Sis. Joscelyn Nacor-Perez, 27, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I saw the difference between my old religion and now. I wasn’t active in my old religion, but it was only now that I have heard such teachings that are very good. Everything is in the Bible so you will really believe.

Sometimes, I watch on TV, and sometimes I hear the teachings through my husband. He’s been a members since 2012.

I just couldn’t attend to this because of my work as well. I can’t go absent just like that. I just filed a leave to be baptized.

On Being Baptized

It feels so light inside. Even as the baptizer was speaking, you will really cry. It’s very touching, and you will really feel different. It’s like you want to do it again. [Laughs]

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May the Lord continue to guide them in what they do that they may be able to help many people.

Sis. Josephine Cortez, 48, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I really wanted to already. At first, I was reluctant. My husband was first to become a member. After one year of watching on television, I liked it as well. That’s why I joined.

Ever since my husband became a member here in the Church of God, I didn’t anymore worship in Catholicism. I was a Catholic but I didn’t anymore attend mass for about a year now.

I watched the program at times when I didn’t have anything to do. That’s when I watched television. Whenever my husband would watch, I would too and so I saw the beautiful teachings of Bro Eli.

Later on, I attended the Bible Expo and then the indoctrination.

On Being Baptized

It’s unburdening. I was actually weeping inside the chapel when Bro. Eli lead the prayer. Then when I finally got baptized, all the emotional baggage that I used to carry got lifted.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that the Lord will always guide them for them to be able to continue in waving the flag of righteousness.

Sis. Cristina Marie Samson, 24, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I came to the point that it seemed like I didn’t have any God anymore that I believed in. I would wake up every morning and feel incomplete. I didn’t know what to do. Also, I have a son, and I want him to grow up with fear in God.

On Being Baptized

I felt so light afterwards. I was actually talking to myself a while ago and asking, “Why is there no more burden?”

I just felt so happy because this has long been overdue. It’s been delayed, so to speak because I’ve been hearing Bro. Eli since I was in high school.

My father was the first to become a member here. I was still young then when he became a member of the Church of God. So I was able to watch Bro. Eli even then. That’s why I know also that all the teachings of Bro. Eli from the Bible are true.

My father has been a member here since I was in elementary. He’s about 15 years in the church already.

He would always tell us, “I hope that you will someday become members of the Church.”

– – –

At times when we get together to talk, he shares with us, especially with me, the biblical lessons that he learns.

There was one time that I really cannot forget. It was the last time we met before I attended the first indoctrination session. He told me what would happen when Christ appears.

As I was looking at my father telling the story, it really left a great impression on me. I got really afraid of being in hell.

I said, “For the rest of my life, while I still have hope, I want to learn the teachings of the Bible.” I also want my husband to be here, and my children, as well as my loved ones.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thank you because with the Lord’s help and the brethren’s, you are able to preach the teachings of God in every corner of the country, and not just here but in the whole wide world as well.

I hope that they will be able to continue, and may they be given many more days that they may be able to go on preaching for our family to grow, so to speak.

Sis. Melody Capote, 18, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

Their teachings are good, and really go straight to the heart. The doctrine about the four kinds of hearts really struck me.

The first time we completed the indoctrination sessions, we [she and her cousins] didn’t get baptized. But when we got here in Apalit, this is when we realized that we should have gotten baptized before.

That time, there was something that hindered us: wearing modest apparel. I thought, “What if I had just been baptized before?” My mother told me regarding clothing, “It’s not a problem. You can wear many things, but if you want to dress skimpy clothing, you’ll get harassed.”

My mother is already a member, and she’s the one who encouraged me to join. I told her that I would.

On Being Baptized

When we were just in line, I was already nervous. Then, as I was walking towards the baptistery, I was about to cry already. [Giggles] I said to myself, “I can do this.”

Then after I was immersed, it felt so good inside. I said, “It’s okay.” I felt that my spirit was cleansed, and my sins are now gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

To Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I hope that many more will become members in the Church of God, and that you’ll be able to teach us many more teachings.

Sis. Rikkamyr Maniflor, 16, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I heard true teachings in this religion.

I also heard the one about graven images. In other groups, there is no God. In Catholicism, there are idols, while others don’t.

That’s what got me wondering. I asked my father and looked in the Bible. That’s why I know that this religion is true, and so I joined here.

My father would always bring me to Prayer Meetings and Thanksgivings. I also got to listen on radio while my father listened to Bro. Eli Soriano’s program, Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path). People of different nationalities would ask him there.

On Being Baptized

When I got baptized, I felt that I had hope. I was glad. I was just really elated when I got baptized.

After I got out of the water, it seemed like time slowed down. So I really feel so blessed now.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli Soriano, I hope that he will continue preaching the word of God in other nations, to those who haven’t yet realized that this is the truth.

Others don’t believe; they still adhere to wrong teachings like worshipping idols.

One time, I got into a debate with my classmate, the Top 1 in our class. I said that kneeling down to graven images is wrong. She got mad at me.

I told her that other religions don’t have idols. She realized it and then one time I brought her to the locale and she heard the teachings.

She goes with us every time my father and I attend Prayer Meetings. We just listen.

Bro. Juan Francisco, 48, Former Catholic, Bicol Province

On Joining the Church of God

I want to be saved. I want my spirit and soul to be saved.

I was able to listen to Bro. Eli via radio and television. It has been since a long time ago actually. Perhaps they were still on SBN 21 back then.

On Being Baptized

I felt light and kind of reenergized.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their lives will be longer that many more souls will be saved.

Sis. Mary Ann Santos, 30, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

I want to be close again with the Lord God and that I may have trust in Him again.

I was able to listen via the Internet, and also when I accompany my parents whenever they attend Church services.

I follow everything that [Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel] say, and I felt that I really needed to bring myself closer to God. It was different at first. But now I really felt the love of God for me.

Sis. Mary’s Mother: Her father is already 20 years old in the Church, while I’m only one year old. Our two children are already three years in the Church, and she is my youngest.

On Being Baptized

I feel so different now than I was before. I feel different now; I feel lighter inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will become stronger then they will be able to continue helping people. Thanks be to God!

Sis. Sherellyn and Sis. Arsenia Mabait, 65, Former Catholics, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

Sis. Sherellyn: I learned the words of God.

Sis Arsenia [Sis. Sherellyn’s sister-in-law]: We learned about it through my brother. Also, when I was a child I remember my father listened to Bro. Eli. That’s why I’m familiar with the teachings and the doctrines. And that’s why it was very easy for us to be encouraged to join here.

We really believe in Bro. Eli’s explanations. They’re really true and of God. He’s on-point in the Bible, and the explanations about it are very well. That’s why we decided to get baptized.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Sherellyn: I felt happy.

Sis. Arsenia: It feels good inside. It’s like your problems are gone. It’s like now, our problems are going to be solved easily: All we have to do is call on the name of Jesus Christ.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Arsenia: We are thankful because it’s through him that we learn things in the Bible, whatever word of God that we can benefit from, like doing good to others.

Sis. Sherellyn: I am thankful also because we have felt the truth.

Bro. Alejandro Ferrer Jr., 62, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

This should’ve happened a long time ago; only, I had work then. I couldn’t leave work, so I persuaded my wife to go on with it.

I told her to investigate it, but it was actually me who had an intent to join since the 1970s. I didn’t attend anymore in Catholicism back then. I would tell them, “There are many wrong things there.”

I heard [from Bro. Eli] that serving idols is prohibited, but why is it in Catholicism there are many? They even parade those around. There’s the black rosary, the black Nazarene; I asked, “What is that? A burnt saint?” That’s why I did not anymore attend in Catholicism.

Actually, in myself, really know the reason; that’s why I got baptized here. I didn’t really know the true Church then. Here, the doctrines are according to what is written, because there are many prohibitions.

On Being Baptized

I felt light. Before, even moving my body was a task, as I have an ailment.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue the more in preaching that many more people will be encouraged and believe.

Bro. Edgardo Cordova, 58, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s because of the teachings that I heard from Bro. Eli.

I’ve been listening to Bro. Eli for a long time now, since the days of Don Manolo’s program on DZRH. However, it wasn’t continual. My two siblings though became members already.

I would listen to it nightly on DZRH; he and Don Manolo would exchange thoughts. Only, perhaps because of being busy with everyday life here on earth, and in watching football, I wasn’t able to continue listening.

That was in the ‘90s already, because that’s the time when we had cable TV. When there’s cable, there’s European football.

During indoctrination, I was really eager to listen, as I really wanted to. It’s like I encouraged myself to do this. Perhaps, it is also the calling of the Lord.

Our youngest is just a new member. Our second was just last December. I can’t recount how old in the Church our eldest is however.

On Being Baptized

I felt relief in my body. That’s what I felt. Even the hunger that I felt before was gone; I can’t explain it.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their lives will be longer. I also pray for them. It’s because what Bro. Eli says is truly not coming from his own. It comes from a source that isn’t mortal.

Sis. Zenaida Dela Rosa, 70, Former Catholic, California

On Joining the Church of God

I saw the truth here in the Church of God, which is why all my children are already members here. I have four children; their spouses are members as well.

My husband is in Pampanga. He also wants to join but he’s busy preparing for us to go home in California.

We just actually went here on vacation. I was just going to accompany my husband in doing something. Then, [we got indoctrinated] and I told him that I would get baptized already [Laughs], because he told me that we should go together. Only, he wasn’t able to since he needed to go to Palawan.

We’ve been listening to Bro. Eli on radio. In 1993 however, I went abroad so I wasn’t with my children anymore. So I only got to join now.

On Being Baptized

The teachings are really good. It’s the truth: what Bro. Eli Soriano preaches. What the Bible says is good, and that’s what we must believe.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank Bro. Eli for the words that he speaks and preaches to people. Many thanks to God because now I am a member here.

Sis. Annalou Briones, 20, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Their teachings are good. I was able to attend a Bible Study session as my employer is a member here. He would bring me to Church services.

The teachings are good and you’ll learn a lot.

On Being Baptized

I feel light. My body feels light. I really feel good.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank them because we learn things. Thanks be to God. What they preach is good and you will learn from it.

Sis. Roltina Maniego, 32, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I know that I already had a lot of sins, and that became my reason to join, that my heart may be cleansed and be closer to Him.

I learned about this through my parents. The doctrines are really from the Bible. Bro. Eli says what is in the Bible, which is what we really should obey because it is what God really wants.

Whenever mama watched [The Old Path], I would watch also. But it was only this year that I really got to listen intently. I had a few problems before and it was only Him that I depended upon.

On Being Baptized

I cried.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue their preaching of the word of God and in helping our fellowmen.

Sis. Gelaiza Soriano, 17, Former Catholic, Baguio Province

On Joining the Church of God

To be able to hear the teachings of Bro. Eli as I learn from them. My grandfather would bring me to the Locale of Baguio.

I learned a lot of things that we shouldn’t do, especially in women’s clothing. I learned the prohibitions that other religions are not saying.

On Being Baptized

I felt light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel, many, many thanks for the teachings you teach us.

Sis. Araceli Velchez, 54, Former Catholic, Bicol Province

On Joining the Church of God

I liked the preaching of Bro. Eli when I was able to watch him on television. Also, his explanations about the Lord. I was formerly a Catholic, but it was Bro. Eli’s teachings that I liked.

Someone lead me here. I said to him, “Just let me listen and listen.” So now, I liked it already.

He’s Bro. Tirso Velchez, and he’s been a member here for some years now. He’s with me today.

I have liked Bro. Eli since way back then. I didn’t mention anything to him before because I felt I wasn’t ready yet.

But now I feel that I’m ready so I told him, “Kuya (big brother) Tirzo, I’m ready to be baptized.”

On Being Baptized

I felt light, as if I am with the Lord. Also, the heaviness I had because of my illness was gone. I have cancer, and I was actually surprised because I felt light. So I really liked it.

I have breast cancer and it will take six chemotherapy sessions in Jose Reyes Medical Center said the doctor.

I have only undergone treatment three times as I already lack money. Bro. Tirso [her friend] said, “Let the Lord take care of it.”

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel, many, many thanks for your explanations. I really liked your teachings about God. That’s all.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: January 29, 2016

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on January 29, 2016 at the Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Zeny Gumapak, 34, Former Born Again, Batangas Province

On Being Baptized

It’s because of the teachings that I’ve heard from Bro. Eli, which I didn’t hear from the religions that I’ve been in. It’s only from him that I heard the truth. That’s the reason why I was convinced to join here.

I became a member of a Born Again group, but I haven’t attended there for like seven years already.

I first listened to Bro. Eli in Late July of 2015 up until January on radio and television. I guess that’s what they call the calling of God.

At first I didn’t have any interest in listening to Bro. Eli. It’s because some say he speaks bad words, or that there are many prohibitions here, or that he teaches too long. However, I understand now why they speak such things. And I told myself, “What they say is wrong. It’s not true.”

On Being Baptized

I felt so happy it’s a different kind of joy. It’s like all the emotional baggage that I used to carry was gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue their preaching of the good news of God. I hope that their lives will be longer, and continue in persevering, in patience as they will reap the benefits that our Father and God will give them.

Sis. Alma Grace Diamante, 23, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

It was my boyfriend who introduced this to me. Though he was hindered by his family, he was still able to get baptized last week.

On the first day of the indoctrination, he invited me together with Bro. Lucky. Then I heard things about the Bible and I said to myself, “I’m liking this. What they say is true.” And so I decided to become a member here.”

I heard about Bro. Eli from him before. The things that Bro. Eli says, he tells me. Then, when I was able to hear them straight from Bro. Eli I found them to be true.

Everything in the doctrines is true because I experienced it as well. Especially in times, of hardships, I seek help from God, and He answers.

On Being Baptized

I cannot explain the feeling. Actually, even as the baptizer was asking me questions, my tears just fell, and it felt different.

I felt happy and at the same time inexplicably so. I don’t know; I really cannot explain it. It just feels so light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I hope that you will have more strength and continue in preaching the word of God. I hope that you will be able to help many more soul in instructing them towards the right path, as you have me.

Sis. Jovita Rollan, 67, Former Iglesia ni Cristo, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I can’t remember the first time that I heard The Old Path on radio, but after that I decided to get indoctrinated, and continued from then on.

On Being Baptized

I felt light. Actually, I was crying as I was being immersed in the water.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, thank you because I have now found The Old Path and have known the Church of God.

Sis. Evangelina Evangelista, 72, Former Jesus Is Lord Member, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s because of my eldest son, Bro. Randy Evangelista. He was the first gift to me and my husband.

My husband joined the “Suhay” [Church of God Pillar and Brace of Truth], while I joined the JIL. I was previously a Catholic, then in the Born Again with Eddie Villanueva. Then, I excluded myself from it, and just prayed to the Lord at home.

Presently, I am being healed by the Lord because I have a metal brace in my body. I underwent orthopedic surgery.

– – –

My son just shared things with me. Then he said, “Ma, just listen.” But even before that we already listened.

But then, what I didn’t like about him was that he shouted. I asked, “Is this really a pastor? Why is he so bold?” That’s just what I thought.

Gradually however, he was able to encourage me. It’s like I developed a “crush” on him.

I started listening in 1998; I was still active in the JIL back then. [Laughs] My mister really liked Bro. Eli. I told him, “He curses.” But now, as when I was getting indoctrinated, I see him now as a meek lamb.

– – –

My son got baptized last year, and me this year. And perhaps, God willing, my other children as well. As for my husband, I don’t know yet.

When I was in the JIL, I was very active. Everything said there, I followed. I was able to bring my godchild there to be baptized, as well as me and my children.

My husband was aboard a ship then. I have five children, and what I want is wherever I am, my family will be also. I shared with them the Word of God.

– – –

I got offended one time when we attended a worship service in JIL in September.

Erap had just won the presidency back then. Now, before there was a service, like a Bible Study, etc, Pastor Sylvia said: “Parents, brethren, I have something to explain to you. I hope you won’t be offended.

“Our president now is Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada. The scientific name of Erap is like this and like that.” I felt that I got deafened. I didn’t like what she was saying.

Even my husband got irritated, and lost interest. Another thing that my children disliked was that when they attended, they just got hungry. Also, the people there were just chatting nonsense. I didn’t anymore convinced them otherwise because they were already teenagers then. Now they have their own families.

On Being Baptized

I felt the Holy Spirit. I really felt it.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May the Lord will for him to have a longer life that he may be able to save many more souls who are drowning [in false religions].

Sis. Roseshell Solis, 15, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s only here where I heard the doctrines that are extraordinary. It’s only here where my mind got enlightened. And it’s true.

My grandmother was the one who encouraged me to join. I’m from the province and my entire family is Catholic. I’m the only member of the Church of God.

I just accompanied my grandma going to the locale, until I became a member of the Church of God.

On Being Baptized

I felt different. I felt light inside. It’s like I have a new life.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they take care and continue to teach here in the Church of God.
