Brother Daniel Gifts 300 Small-Scale Livelihood Grants on His 40th Sabbath Anniversary

Brother Daniel Razon, the Overall Servant of the Members Church of God International (MCGI), celebrated his 40th Sabbath anniversary on November 28, 2023 by providing small-scale livelihood capital to 300 beneficiaries. In MCGI, a Sabbath anniversary commemorates the yearly remembrance of one’s baptism in the Church.

The beneficiaries were MCGI brethren encountering financial difficulties due to calamities and other life challenges. They received cash assistance and goods to establish or sustain their micro-businesses, such as food carts, sari-sari stores, and online selling ventures.

A Divine Obligation to Serve

In an interview regarding his 40th year of service, Brother Daniel, also known as Kuya Daniel, expressed his gratitude to God for calling him into the Church and granting him the opportunity to serve and care for his fellowmen.

“I always want to remind our brothers and sisters to trust in God’s goodness. Whenever we face problems or difficulties, we should pray and ask for God’s mercy and help. We also have a brotherhood that God has given us, and with His help and mercy, we should do our best to serve our brothers and sisters who are in need,” he said.

He also emphasized the essence of true religion, which is to help the oppressed, the orphans, the widows, and those in need, and to show them God’s love.

“Through the Church, we can reveal God’s love and care, especially to our brothers and sisters who will never be forsaken by the Lord. We are valuable to God, even though most of us are poor and uneducated, but God has shown His appreciation to us by calling us into the Church. This is a sign of God’s love for us,” he added.

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

James 1:27, King James Version

Grateful Recipients

During the granting event held at the MCGI Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga, some of the recipients couldn’t hide their happiness upon meeting Brother Daniel in person.

Sister Minerva Caiyas was elated when she conversed with Kuya Daniel during the event, stating, “I am extremely joyful because I had the opportunity of meeting Brother Daniel personally on his Sabbath anniversary.” She conveyed her gratitude to God for receiving Kuya Daniel’s grant, enabling her to relaunch her business. “I’m also thankful to God that even though my business folded because of the recent calamity, I am a recipient of Brother Daniel’s grant.”

Another beneficiary, Sister Ramona Cardava, expressed her gratitude to God for Brother Daniel’s generous heart towards his brothers and sisters in faith.

“I thank God for the financial aid and Brother Daniel’s big heart towards the brotherhood. I cannot repay his kindness; all I can do is trust God to reward Kuya Daniel for his love for us.”

The Caralipio couple commended Brother Daniel for consistently reminding the MCGI brethren to support and love each other, much like the late Brother Eli Soriano always did.

“We often hear Brother Daniel say that there are no difficulties within the brotherhood as long as we help one another, just as we always heard from Brother Eli,” the couple said.

God’s Help is Paramount

Brother Daniel acknowledged that his gifts to the brotherhood and his charitable endeavors are limited compared to what God can do. He then encouraged the members of the Church to persist in serving and placing trust in God’s goodness with zeal and unity so that whenever they seek God’s help, He will always do it in the best interest of His servants.

“God is good, and His kindness endures forever. We cannot limit what He can do for us. Therefore, in any situation, we must always seek His help first,” he emphasized.

The livelihood assistance program is among the various charitable initiatives of MCGI led by Brother Daniel, who is also a renowned media personality, singer, songwriter, and public servant. Additionally, he serves as the President and CEO of Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International or BMPI, which operates UNTV News and Rescue, a television network dedicated to public service. UNTV airs the religious programs of MCGI, such as Ang Dating Daan and The Old Path, both hosted by Brother Eli Soriano and Brother Daniel.
