Apalit, Pampanga — On September 21, 2025, the MCGI Ministry of Health and Care Management (MHCM) hosted its annual Medical Team General Assembly at the La Verdad Auditorium at the La Verdad Christian College campus in Apalit, Pampanga. The event gathered 1,043 on-site attendees, comprising doctors, nurses, physical therapists, dentists, pharmacists, and caregivers from the Philippines and abroad.

The assembly focused on mobilizing brethren in a renewed effort to strengthen the ministry’s medical charitable services worldwide.

A Growing Cause

During his welcoming remarks, Brother Daniel Razon, Overall Servant of the Members Church of God International (MCGI), shared the ministry’s history and expansion. He recalled that it was during Brother Eli Soriano’s time that the Church’s need for medical professionals to carry out its numerous charitable services became apparent.

The increasing demand for MCGI’s medical outreach has since led to the creation of new health and medical professional groups within the ministry, including a dedicated group for caregivers.

Kuya Daniel reminded the attendees of a fundamental principle: all things must be done in accordance with faith (Romans 14:23 and Proverbs 3:20). He emphasized the importance of their work, stating, “Your cooperation is a huge factor in our efforts to reach our fellow human beings and allow them to come to know the goodness of God.”

He cited Romans 1:17: “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

Brother Daniel also expressed his pride in the MCGI Medical Mission volunteers, mentioning how non-member beneficiaries have testified that the care they receive exceeds expectations.

To further support the ministry’s growing responsibilities, he announced the establishment of a medical team per region.

Technology and Healthcare

Servants-in-Charge Brothers Josel Mallari and Mel Mandaraog addressed the attendees, highlighting the joint efforts of the Ministry of Health and Care Management (MHCM) and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MICT). They shared about leveraging technology to automate various healthcare processes and stay ahead in delivering services to both brethren and non-brethren.

Brother Josel emphasized the ministry’s global perspective, noting its active presence in countries such as Latin America and Europe. He also mentioned that MCGI currently has Memoranda of Agreement with government entities both in the Philippines and abroad to ensure the smooth operation of its charitable services.

A key part of the ministry’s work is caring for brethren, including the geriatric community and those with pre-existing conditions. The MHCM conducts medical missions in numerous indigenous communities, both locally and internationally, and operates five Mobile Dental and Optical Clinics in the Philippines. They also offer remote medical consultations through the MCGI Digital Clinic.

In addition to the 1,043 on-site attendees, hundreds more connected via Zoom. Members of the MICT, including Assistant SICs Brother Robert Navoa and Brother Marvin Go, as well as Brother Lito Quizon, were also present to support the event.
