More than 400 Indigents in Pulilan, Bulacan Receive Free Services from MCGI and UNTV Outreach

More than 400 residents in Pulilan, Bulacan benefited from the free medical, dental and legal services offered during the joint outreach program of UNTV and the Members Church of God International (MCGI).

Among those served is the 83-year-old Luminda Hipolita who has long been suffering and complaining about her toothache.

Since both Lola Luminda and her husband are unemployed and rely on the help of their children who have their own families to look after, she could not afford to do anything about her toothache. To have it extracted, she would need Php300.

Upon learning about the free medical and dental mission in their barangay in Sta. Peregrina, Lola Luminda enlisted herself to avail the dental assistance.

…If there is no [service] like this, I cannot get my tooth extracted because I am poor,” said Lola Luminda.

Residents of neighboring Barangay Inaon also received medical aid. Angelica Mendoza, mother of two, was thankful for the medical assistance extended to her children who were suffering from coughs, cold and fever.

“Sometimes, we don’t have money to buy medicines for the children. We also find it difficult to have food everyday. Thank you to those who organized this [medical mission] and the free medicines given to the children,” thanked Aling Angelica.

A senior citizen, Mrs. Rosalina Batumbakal, 79, was also thankful for the outreach mission.

“If we will go directly to the center, it will be far. I cannot walk and let my children walk [with me]. So when someone told [me] about the medical [mission] here, we immediately prepared,” she related.
All in, the free medical and dental mission of the public service partnership of UNTV and MCGI accommodated 434 residents.

According to barangay chairman Jorge Santos, their barangay has no capability to provide these kinds of free service to the residents, that is why he is grateful.

“I thank Bro. Eli Soriano and Kuya Daniel Razon that they brought the medical mission project of UNTV here … I got goosebumps, I can’t express what I feel [right now] because I am really delighted with what happened today,” said chairman Santos.

“Thank you so much, I really won’t forget, for as long as I live, what you did here in our barangay,” he added.
