Newly Baptized Testimonials: August 2, 2013

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s newly baptized brethren on August 2, 2013.

Bro. Francis Madriaga, 31, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
I started listening through radio then on television, ever since something happened to my family and I lost my job. It was that time that a brother invited me to attend, and I liked it.

It’s really nice. I have a new hope and feel really nice that I’ve learned sound doctrine.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope that many more will be called like me, who’ll hear the message of the Lord and live a new life.

Bro. Cecilio Sison, 61, Former Catholic, Cavite

On Being Baptized
I’m really glad that I was baptized. Many thanks to God that for the Holy Spirit and may I be able to fulfill what I need to do and that I may not give in to temptations to vices.

I’ve actually been listening for quite some time. It used to be just once a month, until it became weekly. Then it became daily, because I’m really searching for the true religion. That’s when I found out that everything Bro. Eliseo Soriano says is true and based in the Bible. It’s why [I know] that what I found is really good.

On MCGI Leaders
Many thanks to Bro. Eli because he is able to help many people who are searching for the truth. Like me, I was one of the truthseekers, which I only found in him.

I hope that his program continues to expand in reach. What he started on radio, on TV and now is in other countries as well is really good. It’s really all over the world!

Sis. Liz Friend, 40, Former Iglesia Ni Cristo, Tarlac Province

On Being Baptized
I was a former Iglesia Ni Cristo. Then, when my husband and I became separated, INC excommunicated me. It has been 25 years since.

For me, I feel really different when I got baptized. You’ll see that it’s different when you just listen and when you undergo baptism. I’ve been listening to The Old Path for four years now.

I’ve always been promising, every time I came to the Philippines that I will start serving God. But ever since I’ve never done that. Though my brother has long invited me, but he always said, “I won’t force you, because I want it to come from your heart.” So it’s really good.

On MCGI Leaders
I thank God so much because I’ve been baptized here in the Church of God. I also thank Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. I hope that they’ll be able to lead many more people so that we’ll be many together in serving God.

Bro. Ismael De Castro, 35, Former Church of Christ, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
I feel happy because I’ve tried many times already to undergo indoctrination, but I always get hindered. So [I’m glad] that I finally heeded to the call of God to me.

I got to know about [the Church of God International] through television. I was still studying then and was active in Catholicism. My father however was a member of the Church of Christ and I was a member there as well.

I wasn’t much keen on listening to Bro. Eli when I was studying. However when I became a member of the Church of Christ, that’s when I got interested in listening to Bro. Eli.

Every night, I listened to him, until I got indoctrinated. I searched for a locale near where I lived so I can attend.

On MCGI Leaders
For Bro. Eli, all I can say is that I’m thankful to God because he is really the preacher who can really explain [the Bible]. It’s only from him that I heard the answers to the questions I had in the religion I was formerly affiliated with. Thanks be to God.

Bro. Richmond Robles, 33, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
I’ve been listening for three years now through television, where I really got to hear his teachings. I’m really happy that I became a member of the Church of God. Really very happy!

On MCGI Leaders
I hope that they’ll keep on doing what they do because they are helping many people, especially those who are seeking for true doctrine. Thanks to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

Bro. Romy Solis, 56, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
I’m really, really happy! First of all, God is so good because I’ve been hit by stroke four times already, and here I am baptized. But look at me, and I don’t look like someone who had stroke four times.

I’ve long attempted to [undergo indoctrination] in Cubao in EDSA. Then, one time I went to another locale. But when we went there it said “This property is for sale.” That’s when I learned that they’ve moved already to a larger place. When I found it, I was really happy and I didn’t delay anymore.

I watched all of Bro. Eli’s debates on television, like the one in Batangas against the atheist who called him a fool. I was really angry with the atheist. But in the end he lost. He only learned a little and yet he was very boastful. He underestimated Bro. Eli.

On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli, really many thanks. I’ve watched you for a long time and my real wish now is that I see you in person. God willing, when I retire, I’ll be able to go to South America. I know that Bro. Daniel is here though as I see him on television.

Bro. Demosthenes Alicos Jr., 28, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
I’ve been actually listening for a long time through television. Sometimes on the Internet, on Youtube. Now, my heart feels relieved. I hope that we’ll continue in believing because there really are many temptations.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope that their health will be well, and their lives be longer so that many more will know the truth.

Sis. Yoshiko Sata, 20, Former KNC, Pampanga Province

On Being Baptized
I feel really light. It’s been ten years since I first listened. I was still a kid there, and I even became a KNC. But after many things happened, I wasn’t able to attend.

Now after studying a year in La Verdad, with God’s help and mercy I was able to start indoctrination. I take broadcasting there.

On MCGI Leaders
First of all, thanks be to God because my heart and mind have been enlightened, and not only me but the many others who have been baptized today. I hope that many more things will be explained to us and we’ll understand with His help.

I hope that many more will be able to hear the teachings and become members of the true Church of God. May their lives be longer.

Bro. Rolando Orais, 45, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
I don’t know if there would be any place [in my heart] where I can contain this much joy. I had really many wrongdoings before and I was really disobedient. I think I’ve done all sorts of evil already.

I got intrigued with Bro. Pete’s Ang Dating Doon [a parody of Ang Dating Daan on a local gag show]. Since then, I started listening to Bro. Eli’s program on radio at 558. Then, I followed him on Manolo Fabis’ show, then on DZRH. I’m a taxi driver and I followed The Old Path till there was UNTV already.

On MCGI Leaders
Many thanks to God that I was able to listen and be enlightened. Many thanks also to Bro. Eli because I found the Word of God. I hope that I won’t go back to the things I did before because as Bro. Eli says, if you wilfully disobey the teachings, there’s no more forgiveness. I hope that God will give him a longer life so that many people like me will return to God.
