Newly Baptized Testimonials: January 17, 2014

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga on January 17, 2014.

Bro. John Rommy Revoltar, 15, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
Just like the other people here, I can’t explain what I feel. It’s really something I can’t explain when I got baptized.

My classmate, Mario Victor, he was the one whom I heard discussing about [The Old Path], and I listened to them.

Then, I went to them to a locale, [and that was] my first time to listen to Bro. Eli.

On MCGI Leaders
My message to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is, thank you. They became the way for me to lead me back to the Lord, and they taught us the teachings or words of God.

Bro. Arnold Mallari, 49, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
I learned a lot. But I still have to learn a lot from the words of the Father, because in my previous religion, there were many things untaught.

After baptism, all the heavy problems I had, the sins against God I committed, now all feel light for me.

I learned about Bro. Eli through television, if I’m not mistaken, about ten years ago.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope that Bro. Eli will be given a longer opportunity [to serve] that many more brethren, souls will join the Church.

Bro. Modesto Tamisin, 64, Former Born Again, Laguna Province

On Being Baptized
It feels light inside that I’ve received the true God.

I watched Bro. Eli on television, about three or four years ago. I really liked his explanations in the Bible. It’s like, really dissected and settles in the heart.

On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli, may we continue this work that many may learn the Word of God.

Bro. Francis Allen Dayao, 29, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
All I can say is that this is really true. Out of all the [preachings] I heard, all the things that Bro. Eli says are truly Biblical. Everything is written, so I don’t have any doubts in joining here.

I got to listen to [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] when I was still a kid. My grandfather used to listen to The Old Path.

Then when I grew up, I was invited here by my brother. He said, “Try to watch. You won’t lose anything after all.” So I tried to watch and with God’s mercy, I did. I listened and I realized that everything said was true.

On MCGI Leaders
For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, may you continue the work of preaching the Word of God to people who have not yet [heard it]. I hope they will be enlightened, that their minds and hearts have understanding and see what’s true from what’s not.

I hope that they also have longer lives that they may continue this work of [preaching] God’s words.

Sis. Jenny Guevarra, 43, Former Born Again, Rizal Province

On Being Baptized
I feel light, as I was from an accident. Three tires rolled over my foot. But thanks be to the Lord Father who saved us with the help of our faith because it wasn’t that easy feeling what we felt that night that we were from an indoctrination session.

It was a Friday and we were from indoctrination. We were by the stoplight when there was a car bigger than [a Nissan patrol] coming from our right side. It overtook our lane and it hit us [We were on a motorcycle].

My foot underwent the car. And the tire rolled back and forth over my foot. So it was really of great help that you have faith in the Lord, because if it weren’t for the Father, perhaps we would have been dead already.

[After I was baptized] as they said, you have to give all your load [to God]. I really felt the relief, the peace. It was like I really fought. As [Bro. Eli] said, you will face [trials]. I thought it wasn’t true, until I experienced this. It was a great hindrance.

Thanks be to God. We really need to be closer to the Lord. Because in these times, we don’t know how accidents can happen.

On MCGI Leaders
Now that I am baptized, I’m thankful because I was so close-minded before to this kind of faith. But I thank the Lord because He gave them to preach the message that people really need to hear for them to turn back to the Lord.

So thanks to the Lord that He used Bro. Eli to give His message and save many souls.

Bro. William Esparcia, 40, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
At least I feel relieved now. I feel good and that I have peace of mind. It’s like that, unlike before, when I had doubts.

I feel different now, like I’m floating in the air because of joy. I can’t explain it. It’s true. That’s how I feel right now.

I didn’t entertain [listening to Bro. Eli Soriano] at first. But when I visited the locale, I saw that his explanations were very clear, and it’s only now that I learned things that I never knew were in the Bible.

I didn’t know about the prohibitions, because they aren’t taught in other religions. Those things were not taught to us. When I learned them, I decided in myself that the religion, the words of God are different.

It’s really different because [Bro. Eli] really explains everything, unlike in Catholicism where these are not explained. So I realized, “Why do they do that?” Whereas me, I’ve long been a Catholic and I didn’t know whether one thing is prohibited or not.

I learned that some words of God contain prohibitions. It has dos and don’ts. It’s really good because I understand the Bible now, unlike before so I didn’t pay it any attention.

On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, may you continue the good manners that you do today, and that we may triumph. All the evil religions will all be gone and only yours will be left standing.

I’m thankful that I’m here in the Church of God. My mind was really enlightened, and as if my being became whole. I felt whole because I learned all I haven’t learned before.

My dream and my promise to God is [to invite others], my friends who are not [knowledgeable] in religion. With God’s help, they [may know] the word of God, the truth.

Bro. Jonard Lora, 23, Former Catholic, NCR

On Being Baptized
I feel really, really light, because with the Lord’s help and mercy, I’ve been baptized. It really feels light inside.

At first, it was my in-laws who were just members. Then, I also watch UNTV, and often hear Bro. Eli’s teachings. Of course, we have our own mind already so I decided to join.

I believe in the doctrines that Bro. Eli reads, because those teachings are really from the Bible. They came from the Bible — nothing taken away, nothing added.

On MCGI Leaders
May God bless them. May they continue spreading the teachings of the Lord. More power as well.

Sis. Rachel Soriano, 29, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
It feels good inside. It’s like you’re going to start a new adventure in life, in all things.

I feel relieved and feel like crying at the same time. You also feel the presence of God.

I’ve known [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] since I was in college through my best friend who is already a member. Then when my husband became a member, he was the one who encouraged me. He’s only a new member here, about 11 months.

On MCGI Leaders
May they continue their good works.

Bro. Milton Wenceslao, Former Iglesia ng Dios Haligi’t Suhay ng Katotohanan, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
With what I heard from Bro. Eli Soriano, the [wrong] things I did before were gradually gone, and the words of God he preaches are in me now.

I also thank the workers whom have been instruments for me to understand the Word of God.

The doctrines here are very different from those in the Suhay [Brace]; like in prayer, they don’t kneel as Bro. Eli Soriano taught us.

On MCGI Leaders
I’m thankful to them. Because of them, I understood the things I learned. May the Lord continue to guide them.

Bro. Tomas Villanueva, 32, Former Born Again, NCR

On Being Baptized
There’s a feeling of joy because all my former sins have all been gone this day. I’m really very happy because I am in a group that truly serves God.

When I was first indoctrinated, my attendance wasn’t consistent as there were many hindrances. But I prayed that I would be indoctrinated again starting on January 3, and I said I would push through with it.

Now, I realized that I should’ve been indoctrinated long ago. I should’ve already learnt them then so I wouldn’t have been lost; I wouldn’t have been involved in bad situations.

On MCGI Leaders
For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, may you continue to spread the Word of God. God is truly good.

Bro. Juanario Salazar, 38, Former Catholic, NCR

On Being Baptized
I feel different, like the things I worried about and my problems are gone.

I got to listen through Bible Expositions and through television. Actually, I even saw Bro. Eli personally before.

I was still in high school then. I guess I’m a late bloomer as I only [joined] now. But with God’s mercy, I was able to push through.

Bro. Eli always says that we musn’t only be listeners, but followers as well. So I thought, “That’s right. So why don’t I put it into practice?” So I pushed through with it.

On MCGI Leaders
I’m thankful to him because I was a former Catholic wherein there are many wrong things. It’s in the Bible but they still follow what’s wrong.

I’m thankful because my view in life changed. Imagine, I met him personally when I was about 18 years old. Now, I’m 38. That was twenty years, more than twenty years ago.

I’m thankful to Bro. Eli and to Kuya Daniel. I’ve long been a listener, and it’s only now that I joined. Perhaps God touched my heart. He said, “Do, while there’s still time.”
