Newly Baptized Testimonials: January 2, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on January 2, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Bonifacio Ramones, 68, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

I saw the difference in the doctrines; I’m from Catholicism, and even joined the El Shaddai movement, but I wasn’t content there. It felt like there was something big missing.

I was scanning the AM band on the radio in search for good Bible topics. I found him [Bro. Eli Soriano] on the far end of the radio [frequencies]. When I heard him, I found that what he was saying is okay. I verified it in the [Bible] books he mentioned, and saw it there, so that’s it.

It has been about two years since I listened on both television and radio. Then I verified that true facts are being said, so there is truth. Even in the Noli Me Tangere, in the Pasyon, in the Huling Paalam (Last Farewell) and in [Jose Rizal’s] Letter to Malolos Women in Meycauayan, I verified those. So there’s truth in it.

On Being Baptized

I felt light and I was crying.

I hope that his life will be longer, that their lives will be longer.

On Joining the Church of God

Of course firstly, I want to know the Lord, that I may be used in a better ministry.

I learned that there are many things that I need to change in myself, [and] that there are many things that I need to obey according to [the will of] the Lord.

My husband is already a member, and he brought me to [Church gatherings]. He was the instrument I was waiting for that paved the way for me to become a member today.

He’s abroad, and when he is here for vacation, he brings me to the locale. He just comes back here every vacation. When he left, I just went to the locale on my own. I attended continuously until I was called also.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside. I hope that my getting to know Him will continue.

On Bro. Eli Soriano And Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue to teach us. They have different ways to continue to guide us with the help of the Lord.

On Joining the Church of God

It was through my friend, my townsfellow who is already a member.

When we met again, after not seeing each other for many years, it was like what she was telling me is different; she was different. Then she told me things and the teachings she learned.

She attends in Pasig Bayan Locale, while I in Silang, Cavite. She told me, “Try it there. There is a locale near your place, your apartment.

But even before that, I was already searching [for God]. I attended baptist gatherings, but I didn’t feel comfortable, as it seemed different. They were more on… Everytime they preached, it boiled down to money.

On Being Baptized

After baptism, there’s a feeling of calmness that I can’t explain. I was teary-eyed when I was being asked questions [by the baptizer] in the baptistery. Even as I was just entering, I felt nervous. But I said some prayers as I’m really willing. I really want to change for the better.

May they continue doing their works and may they be blessed.

On Joining the Church of God

This is the true one. Because in my over two years of attending Bible Studies, I really saw that this is the one that speaks the truth.

I attended Bible Studies before [in other religions], but they were heading nowehere. When they were asking me to join, to be baptized, they didn’t lay down the facts on what it is that I will be accepting.

This here is the right teaching. Others just don’t have it. It feels like you’re just hanging on air during baptism, that you will just accept Jesus Christ as Savior and that’s it. In the many religions I’ve been to… even how their women dress.

In one I attended, their women were wearing short shorts. So you really cannot concentrate. Also, the works of those men who really say that they are of God are vain; they really don’t do good.

But here as I told Bro. Gregg, and as my son, who got baptized here on December 19, 2014, told me — when you walk here, you have peace of mind. It’s unlike when you go to other places wherein you don’t know how others behave. The people there might drink and drink, become drunk and then become hostile. But here, you will have peace of mind. You know that the brethren have good hearts.

On Being Baptized

Actually, I’m a person who easily gets angry. But I felt so light that time; I didn’t think of anything that would work me up. Nothing. I just felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano And Bro. Daniel Razon

To our two preachers, may God always keep them, give them good health, and refrain them from troubles that may be caused by men. May they have more blessings, especially spiritual ones.

On Joining the Church of God

I joined the Church of God because I saw the true reformation, true knowledge of God, through my husband. So, it was my husband, who became a bridge for me to know God.

My husband got baptized on March 21 just last year. Then, that’s when I saw the big change in him. All his gambling, drinking were gone; he really underwent total change.

At first, he invited me, but I sometimes felt irritated because everytime we see each other, he would always mention “Bro. Eli, Bro. Eli.”

Later on, he somewhat changed his strategy. I didn’t hear it anymore. So I was like wanting to hear it, until the time came that I came with him to listen to the teachings. That’s when I learned the true doctrines.

On Being Baptized

It’s different, as I used to get angry easily. I had little self control before. But now it seemed to have broadened, widened.

[After baptism] he forgot to bring me my dry clothes as he was feeding these two kids that we brought with us, until the time that I was the only one left who hadn’t change clothes.

Before, simple things like that would irritate me. But that time, even I felt unfamiliar to the feeling. “Why wasn’t I irritated? Why do I understand the situation? Perhaps he was still doing something else.” So I proved that even I have been changed. I hope it continues.

Ever since my husband became a member, [The Old Path] is on his cell phone. So in the morning as I write, I would hear it.

Then one time, he brought the children with him. And oh, the kids enjoyed the KNC [Flock of the Lamb]. The time came when I was the only one left at home, so I also joined them. That’s when I started to listen.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, may you be blessed with a longer life to further your preaching of the word of God. The same goes for Bro. Daniel.

To God be the glory
