Newly Baptized Testimonials: January 3, 2014

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest members baptized on January 3, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga, Philippines.

Bro. Aruel Nadura, 28, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Being Baptized
I’m happy now, because before I was just listening to Bro. Eli as I [read] the Bible as well. But now, I’m baptized. With the teachings in the Bible, my life has now direction.

My father was a member as well of the Church of God, Bro. Primitivo Nadura, but he died last year.

Now, I’m really happy that I became a member of the Church of God.

I’ve been listening since I was in high school. My father and I listened to Bro. Eli [on radio], and I was able to watch also. But it was only now that I decided to get indoctrinated.

All the doctrines I heard are based in the Bible. I’m really happy because the doctrines I heard did not come from just anywhere, but from the Bible; they have basis.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope that Bro. Eli will continue to preach and may the Lord give him a longer life that many more will become members of the Church of God.

Bro. Jaime Alfaras, 61, Former Born Again, Manila

On Being Baptized
Although I’ve been baptized only now, I’ve been watching The Old Path on television for a long time.

Now, I saw that the teachings here are really based in the Bible. I can see that the doctrines here are not of men, not invented by men as there are many kinds of faiths that only add [teachings] that are not in the Bible.

What I liked about this is that it’s purely Biblical, and when it comes to giving, they don’t force people, but out of their own will. As the Bible says, let us give according to our own will and not forcingly.

Sometimes I get to read the Bible on my own, [like the part that says] the day will come when Pharisees and scribes, and by false preachers will make the words of God into merchandize.

I said to myself that it seems like the things I read are becoming true. A preacher shouldn’t be focused on material things, but on spiritual. Although we are in the true [Church], we still need to accept financial [contribution] because we need to propagate the work of the Lord.

There are many finances of the Church that we must understand. It’s very understandable. Because if there were no Internet, if there weren’t television, how could I watch the teachings? So for me, I understand very much that we need to give.

On MCGI Leaders
For Bro. Eli, I’m very, very thankful that I was able to watch the doctrines and teachings that are purely from the Bible. I saw that the explanations and doctrines are truthful, that they are really of God. They are not of the flesh.

What I liked about Bro. Eli is that he doesn’t place himself on a pedestal. He doesn’t want to be called as if he is an important person.

He doesn’t like being treated that way, unlike others who are called archbishops or reverend apostles. Others even let themselves be called “Christ,” which we know is sin according to the Bible.

We know he doesn’t like exalting himself. As the Bible says, the Lord casts down the haughty. That means he is able to follow what’s in the Bible.

Bro. Grando Dela Rosa and Sis. Caroline Dela Rosa, 42 and 44, Former Catholic and Born Again, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized

Bro. Grando: First of all, of course I feel blessed because this is my first time to be baptized, [and] to know that you are in the true religion.

You’re here for the first time, so [I’m really] greatly grateful to God, and of course to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. Actually, they were the key for us to watch their program. The key of truth was really made known [to us].

Actually, there are many [preachers] there. Many say that they are the true ones, but it’s because of Bro. Eli’s program, his The Old Path Bible Exposition on UNTV, all the programs [that] we have proven to be truthful.

So we asked about the Mass Indoctrination, and we went to the Locale of Pag-Asa to be indoctrinated.

Sis. Caroline: I”m happy because for the first time, we found the true religion, true teachings through Bro. Eli. All the teachings are in the Bible, unlike in others.

I was baptized in the Born Again, but I didn’t feel anything. You really feel that you’ve been cleansed [here]. Now, I feel light.

Bro. Grando: I really feel light, and really cleansed. Then, your expectation is high that you’ll be able to follow the doctrines because there is the cleanse. As Bro. Eli, said, the baptism is a symbol, but what’s important is our obeying the doctrines of Christ.

That’s what we really felt when we were baptized. This is the formality, but obeying the doctrines is life-long. It’s like, it’s the beginning, so we have to religiously and faithfully follow.

On MCGI Leaders

Sis. Caroline: I wish good health for Bro. Eli, and may he still be with us for a long time.

Bro. Grando: I feel so blessed and I’m thankful to the Lord that I still saw Bro. eli, although not personally. But hopefully, one day, may we see him in person. With Bro. Daniel, we have a chance.

May Bro. Eli be in good health always, and may God always guide him. May he live longer that he may be able to lead many more souls. Bro. Eli is really true.

Bro. Conrado Canlas, 54, Former member of Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Pampanga Province

On Being Baptized
I feel as if I’m the happiest man in the whole world. I have forgotten all of the sins and errors I’ve done. And I hope that, as Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel said, I will be able to continue this until the end. May the Lord guide me.

[The] first time I heard his [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] teachings, I really liked it instantly, as I was amazed by it.

You see, I was from the Kingdom of Jesus Christ of Pastor Quiboloy. But when I was baptized there, I didn’t understand what my state was. It was just like nothing. I didn’t feel anything, as I do now. Now, I’m ready to turn my back against [vices].

When I was baptized there, my mind got the more confused. It’s only here that I felt tranquil, peaceful.

On MCGI Leaders
All I can say to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I hope that all people will be able to listen to them that all the world will become [members] of the Church of God.
