Newly Baptized Testimonials: June 20, 2014

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on June 20, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Lolina Prado, 21, Former Seventh-Day Adventist, Manila

On Being Baptized
It’s a very light feeling and it brings me to tears. Then I feel like I’m floating; it’s hard to explain.

At first, I have a relative that always invites me here, my cousin. She’s already a member, but I wasn’t really interested then.

At home though, I continued watching [The Old Path] TV program. That’s when I started to have interest in it. That’s how I got to this day. In God’s will, I was baptized.

With regards to the doctrines, almost everything is in there. I can’t think of any more questions that weren’t answered by them.

I was [also] able to attend a Bible Exposition; first one was back in 2012, and I was just indoctrinated this year.
On MCGI Leaders
To Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, thank you very much for leaders like you.

Before we didn’t believe in God, but since we have listened to your preaching, we have proved that God really exists.

We had our doubts [before]. At some point, I was even mad at God because I thought life was unfair, “Why is there no equality? Why are we poor? Why are there wealthy people?” Something like that. So we are very much thankful that we heard your [Bro. Eli’s] teachings.

Sis. Judith Villamor, 23, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
I’m happy. It felt light, like all the heaviness and burden in me vanished.

I first learned about Bro. Eli through my boyfriend’s mom, and I got to watch him on TV. Sometimes his mom would invite me to Prayer Meetings and Bible Expositions.

My first encounter was that she invited me to a Prayer Meeting. I first knew of him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] last 2010, when Sis. Nelly’s son and I became a couple.

There were times when I felt like it was hard to accept the doctrines, because I had a very different belief on things. That is why I had second thoughts if I should continue.

With God’s help I was able to go through and finish the indoctrination. I was motivated by the teachings. They’re all true.

All the answers were in the Bible, not just mere stories. Unlike in my old religion, they would just read one verse from the Bible, then it would be all non–biblical talk.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope they will continue on with their work: The Mass Indoctrination, Bible Exposition, so more people will be enlightened and be members of the Church of God.

Sis. Kimberly Serrona, 20, Former KNC, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
I feel like a new person. This is the best feeling I’ve ever felt.

Actually, I’ve been listening to him [Bro. Eli Soriano] for a long time now. I was a KNC before. Then I got indoctrinated because of my parents; they’ve been members since 1999, and my brother as well.

I’ve decided to long time ago to go under indoctrination, but my focus was on my studies. There was a lot to consider, so I finished all of those first.

I always attended gatherings even when I wasn’t yet baptized. I have no objections to the teachings. You can really see God’s kindness.

On MCGI Leaders
My message to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I wish that they will continually be guided by the Lord God and that their works would flourish.

Sis. Helen Nozalga, 45, Former Catholic, NCR

On Being Baptized
Good. I feel really good and different. Before I was submerged, I had this pain in my throat, then after being in the water now it’s gone.

I went to the indoctrination sessions because my employer Ma’am Allen invited me. My other friend is also a member; they’ve guided me here. I’ve learned a lot from the doctrines that I’ve listened to. I was a Catholic before; it was different there. All that I never learned in the Catholic Church, I learned here.

On MCGI Leaders
Thank the Lord that I was able to watch them on TV. I am truly grateful to God and Bro. Eli.

Sis. Ofelia Buenaobra, 57, Former Born Again, Bulacan Province

On Being Baptized
I feel like a new being. It was like I didn’t even want to get out of the water. It wasn’t because the weather was hot, but it was different.

There’s no right word for it. Because from the line I was crying, and as I was entering the water too. Even until it was time to eat, I kept on crying tears of joy.

It was through radio actually that I was able to listen to Bro. Eli. My husband and I were actually both Born Again members before.

He was the one who was actually listening. But in a span of three weeks [of listening], I decided to get baptized. I approached my brother, Bro. Dennis. I knew that he is already a member here.

I approached him and I asked him to help me. I told him I wanted to know God in a deeper sense through Bro. Eli. My brother was our pastor before, now he’s a member for two years. As for me it’s my day to be born again, my birthday.

It really was just within three weeks; I decided immediately. The power of the Holy Spirit is really something. I went to my brother on my own, I searched for the coordinating center despite heavy rainfall. I filed for a leave at work so I wouldn’t get late in the indoctrination sessions. So from day one of the indoctrination, I really finished it with God’s help.

On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli, thanks be to God. Thank you very much to you and to Bro. Daniel, to the Church of God and I thank the Lord first of all for having my brother Dennis as a way for me to learn the truth.

Sis. Perlyn Pormelejo, 23, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
It will improve my life because I will learn more about the teachings of God. I can live by them now, and remove my previous bad habits [with God’s help and mercy].

When I got out of the water all of my burden lifted. It was like I can fly; that’s how weightless I felt.

Before I watched him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano], through television. Then, a friend of mine invited me, and that’s when I got encouraged to attend the indoctrination two weeks ago.

I liked it a lot because it’s based on the Bible. That’s when I realized, when I compared my life before, that I was really sinful. That’s when I thought my life will be better inside the Church.

When I first heard the teachings, I really reflected on how sinful my life was. I was an occasional drinker.

On MCGI Leaders
For them to have longer lives and that they may continue to serve our brethren and fellowmen that are in need.

Sis. Sheila Marie Antonio, 39, Former Fourth Watch Member, Manila

On Being Baptized
I feel good. It feels so much like I’m already separated from sin. I have been listening to Bro. Eli for about one year now, through UNTV.

Sometimes before when I would switch channels, I would see UNTV but wouldn’t really pay attention to it. That was because I was in a different religion then. I am in awe with the teachings in this Church. My mind finally had peace, and I feel light.

On MCGI Leaders
Thanks be to God for Bro. Eli’s program. He doesn’t know how much difference he made in the lives of many people. I pray that his program will continue to be successful, and that he may be granted a longer life so he can propagate the words of God more.

Sis. Glecie Ramilo, 28, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
Before I joined the Church, I thought my life was a dead-end, hopeless. I was pounded with innumerable problems.

When a co-worker invited me to listen to Bro. Eli, I realized that a sinner still has a chance at forgiveness. There’s mercy reserved for someone like me.

I have friends who are members of MCGI; however, I never listened to them before. I expressed my doubts. Eventually, after I was convinced to listen, I found out I liked what Bro. Eli is preaching.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope they will have more chances to help others, more souls to bring to salvation. To let people know how significant God’s words are. I pray that the evangelization will spread, extend all over the world and not only in the Philippines.

Sis. Analyn Yuson, 34, Former Seventh-Day Adventist, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
Inexplicable joy. I don’t know where it stemmed, but it’s an unusual kind of happiness.

My best friend was the first one who got baptized. I went with my best friend and was able to listen to biblical truths. I was persuaded to attend the indoctrination sessions, and with God’s help and mercy, I was baptized.

The first time I got to listen to Bro. Eli was a very long time ago because I went overseas. It has been almost eight years, when I first returned here [in the Philippines]. I went with my husband to the indoctrination sessions, but I wasn’t able to continue. Last year, when I returned to the country for good, I was able to continue listening.

At first, I didn’t know what to do. The coordinating center was very far from my home [abroad], similar to the distance between Manila and Apalit. I haven’t listened much back then, because it was difficult overseas. When I moved back here, with God’s mercy I persisted.

On MCGI Leaders
We are grateful that God has chosen Bro. Eli to be the instrument in leading people to salvation. We are praying for a longer life for him so he can reach out to more souls.

Bro. Jude Rowell Llanes, 16, Former KNC, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
It was liberating. I feel very happy because I felt that my sins were forgiven.

That was what I felt at first before I went to the swimming pool. I was anxious. I was trembling when I got to the water because it was very cold. Right after I got baptized however, I felt light and felt there’s something in me that changed.

My family has been baptized since early 2000s, but I could say that I only seriously listened to Bro. Eli around 2008 or 2009 because I was still a child then, a Kawan ng Cordero member.

With the persistence of our KNC worker, by taking down notes whenever I listen to Bro. Eli, I took interest with Bro Eli. That’s when I can say I listened to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

What they say all comes from the Bible, very different from other religions. I feel a little sad for others who are not able to listen to our preachers. I hope other people get to listen to them so they will be enlightened.

I pray we will remain faithful in the Church and that no one will stop from doing good and fulfilling the will of God. I also pray that even if we experience trials, we will be able to endure.

On MCGI Leaders
Thanks be to God for everything, because if it weren’t for them, my family’s condition would have been very different from the present. If Bro. Eli will return [to the Philippines], I hope more people will get baptized.

Sis. Eva Bivar, 60, Former Born Again, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
I am certain of my salvation; that was the first thing I felt. It was like a guarantee.

Before, I thought that the simple acceptance of Jesus Christ is a big change. I haven’t even read the Bible then. In my heart I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and my savior. I thought that was enough.

Now I realized after getting baptized in MCGI that He completed me. So I am very happy; I feel whole, because I understood the baptism I accepted. I praise and thank the Lord Jesus Christ, and of course our Almighty Father and the Holy Spirit who all guide me and continue to teach me. The reason why I am here, I believe, is because the Holy Spirit guides me.

Thanks be to God we have television. We have a sister who used to tell how wonderful Bro. Eli’s preaching is. I said yes, because I was able to listen to him before. However, my only comment was that he’s got a very loud voice so I didn’t feel like listening to him again.

The sister convinced me to watch him again. So I did, because I always sought God and His righteousness. I was in the process of wanting to know the Lord more and more. I thought, I won’t lose anything if I tried watching him again.

I watched him for three years and was very happy then. I realized Bro. Eli was an exceptional preacher. I am very grateful to God. I had many answered questions just by listening to him.

He guides his viewers to understand God’s words, which really gives truth and life to many. Other people’s problems are answered, as long as they will take it to heart, as long as they have faith in God’s words.

People will reach the promised life, the one everyone seems to be looking for, the righteous life that God promised to give us. I was a former actress, albeit being considered aged now, I am still noticed. Thanks be to God. I’m happy that people will be able to listen to me through this interview. God is the best. Hallelujah.

On MCGI Leaders
May they persevere with their evangelization of God’s words all over the world, because humanity really needs true preachers like them. I also pray that they will continue to be patient to members who can somewhat be hardheaded. May we all unite in faith, that’s also one of my prayers. Thanks be to God for you Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon.

I am truly happy. One of these days, I probably will be able to meet you. This is God’s gift to me. Once again, first and foremost, I thank God.
