Bro. Raymond & Sis. Mery Joy Ocson, 27 & 17, Former Born Again and Roman Catholic, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Sis. Mery: We saw that this is the truth, and foremostly, this is different from all the rest.

Bro. Raymond: I thank Bro. Eli and to Bro. Daniel as well, because what they teach to us has a good message.

Sis. Mery: When we were able to listen [to Bro. Eliseo Soriano], he [Bro. Raymond] recorded it on his cell phone. I got [interested] as well, so I researched it on the Internet [on Youtube], then on television.

We just saw who really it was in whom we should believe, as there are really many religions that have sprung right now, like the Mormons. But it’s really only through him that we really understood what’s good.

On Being Baptized

Bro. Raymond: Oh I really felt different. If only I could stay there for a bit longer, I would.

Sis. Mery: I felt happy because I got baptized in the Church of God. We felt so relieved.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Mery: More power.

Bro. Raymond: May Bro. Eli’s life be longer. We miss you.

On Joining the Church of God

I saw that the teaching was good and different from other religious groups. Also, all are based in the Bible, so I got persuaded to join.

At first, when I was in Manila, I listened on radio. Then when my co-worker watched it at work, so I found out that there was already on television. I watched it at home and I got the more impressed by him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano].

I listened for only about three years. It was on radio, but it was hard listening there as well as the signal is not strong. On television, it was clear in our place. I watched it almost everyday.

On Being Baptized

It’s as if all the anger was flushed out from my system. Also, my doubt about the true God was erased. I felt something entered me.

The doctrines are what persuaded me to join this organization; it’s really different. I’ve listened to the Iglesia ni Cristo, the Jehovah’s Witnesses and to many others. They cannot equal the preaching of Bro. Eli.

I thought that God wasn’t true. But when I heard Bro. Eli, I was enlightened, and all my [vices like] drinking, and all the anger gone. I learned love for my fellowmen.

My keeping with bad company, my babblings… I feel now that I’m not like that anymore. I just want to be quiet than to engage in trivial chats. I feel as if I just want to work or clean the house than to be with bad company.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli is a really good preacher. He cannot be matched by any other person alive. I feel that he was blessed by God that’s why he’s that good.

Bro. Eli, I hope that your life may be longer, and that you may be able to teach for a longer time and encourage many more people and be saved. To Bro. Daniel, [I pray] the same. May their lives be longer and continue to be guided by God.

On Joining the Church of God

When I heard the doctrines, I realized that everything here is based on the Bible, and are right.

My mom watched [The Old Path] on television, so I was able to listen to it everyday.

On Being Baptized

I felt like crying because it was so refreshing, and you feel truly new.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful because if it weren’t for them, the true teachings of God would not spread.

On Joining Church of God

This is where I saw that right way of faith. Also, all the teachings I heard from them [Bro. Eliseo Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon], I look up in the Bible when I get home. And they match.

It’s unlike in my previous religion. You follow a certain tradition or occasion every year, and yet you cannot read it in any page of the Bible. But us, Christians, the basis of our faith or belief is the Bible.

I’ve been listening since I was in college; I just didn’t pay much attention to it then as I had many other priorities. One time, I got to chat with one of my friends who lives in our town. We were both crazy [back in the days] and he invited me to a Bible Exposition. I wasn’t able to attend that time though.

Then there was a brother-in-faith whom I got to work in our farm. He was the second one who invited me. I was able to go with him, and I continued attending since.

If you’re really investigating then you should really see where what he says is coming from. Because almost everyone now… I mean, just watch Quiboloy and you’ll see that all he says is one story from another. I don’t know where gets what he [preaches].

On Being Baptized

I felt happy. If you were to go to our place, perhaps nobody there would believe you that I joined this kind of ministy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their lives will be longer and their bodies remain strong, as well as retain good health. May the Lord always keep them and may their preaching become broader.

Bro. Edgie Caguimbal, 17, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

This is where I understood what the Bible means. Also, what I heard from the doctrines, there are many things that other religions do that are wrong. Here, what we really study is the Bible’s content, not mingled with any other.

My aunt is a member of the Church. I live with her now. My parents sent me there because I was a headache to them.

At first, I just went with my aunt to Bible Expositions. Then, I talked to my aunt and asked the procedure in joining the Church. I got interested with the doctrines; I even made up for three doctrines that I missed. My parents feel happy about [my joining here].

On Being Baptized

It feels good inside. Before I was immersed in water, I prayed that all my sins may be forgiven by the Lord. I feel that they have been.

[To my parents,] I really miss them. I haven’t seen them. My the Lord will that they join here too. I thank my [aunt] for taking me in. Perhaps, the Lord Jesus Christ has called me to change because I was sent to her.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many, many thanks for sharing the doctrines of God to the brethren. May you establish more brethren in faith in our religion.

On Joining the Church of  God

I’ve been looking for a place where I could be in the Body of Christ; It’s what every person needs, the Church, and that’s what I found.

Nobody invited me; I just went on my own. I prayed that my life will be changed for the bettter. Then from out of nowehere, I just watched TV and turned the channel to Bro. Eli’s program. It started and continued from there until even late at night and early in the morning I still watch. It’s like it’s addicting.

I saw him before, but I didn’t listen as it wasn’t on my mind. But that time when I listened, it felt like an answered prayer like, “This is what I’m giving you; learn from it.” It’s like that.

It was just fast; about a month or les. When I got to listen, I felt addicted and tuned in even on the Internet; I watched all the debates. I [even] saw those who defamed him, and found that what he [Bro. Eli] says is true. “This is what he said there,” that means, they just cut some materials and just made up inventions.

That’s why such things were not a hindrance to me, because I really didn’t look at men, but at the teachings. What happened in Bro. Eli’s life is really amazing. I believe he was really chosen and God-sent.

The doctrines I heard from different television channels of the Iglesia ni Cristo, of the Born Again, the Baptist, the Catholic, I weighed all of those and you’ll see the difference here. All is based in the Bible, nothing added. Also, it’s not only based on his understanding alone; it’s complete.

On Being Baptized

Even as we were just praying, I already felt like crying. Also, it’s like what Bro. Eli said, that the feeling is so light. You’re very wicked old self is gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, may they keep doing what they do, and continue to be instruments of the Lord. May they be stronger in the battle against evil.

Bro. Edgar Pacamaran, 50, Former Catholic, Rizal Province

On Joining the Church of God

My former drinking mate invited me. We had so many vices then. Those friends of mine went ahead of me here with Bro. Eli.

Years passed before my friend found me. But it took him a long time to convince me. Firstly, because I was busy then; in the end though, instead of offering me wine whenever we saw each other, he offered me merienda (snacks) and softdrinks. That’s what persuaded me to go with him. I said “yes” when he invited me through text.

I attended prayer meetings and Thanskgiving every Saturday. Then, I got indoctrinated.

On Being Baptized

I felt cleansed of my sins, like being born again, that state when you don’t have any sins and you’re clean. I hope this continues with God’s help.

Since you’re baptized already, it doesn’t end there. It’s just the beginning and you have to be always active in works until the end, while we’re still here on earth.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope he continues spreading the words of God to the whole world; the same with Bro. Daniel, because the [ministry] is already worldwide.

To God be the glory
