Newly Baptized Testimonials: September 6, 2013

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s newly baptized members on September 6, 2013 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Wilfredo Santos, 58, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Being Baptized
Right now it’s like I feel so light, and that I have been relieved of so much emotional baggage that I don’t know how I would be able to thank God enough for it. Maybe these few tears are tears of joy, a feeling that I’ve been taken away from the old world I lived in, and [now] have been brought back to the early days of my youth.

I’ve been watching Bro. Eli on TV since 1989, and my view about religion has changed [ever since]. Though I didn’t know then how to become a member as I traveled, I didn’t abstain from watching him; I always watched during my vacant time.

If I’m not mistaken, on Channel 9 or 13, he used to just write on a blackboard then. He was handsome then. That was the time that I began watching him and said that the preaching of this person is different. So I followed his show, until now that I’ve aged, until now that I’m finally with him now with God’s mercy in this congregation.

I have a condition now; I have bone disease. It was only detected in October of last year and it was already Stage 4 then. But with God’s mercy, here I still am, kicking.

[Doctors said] I was supposed to be gone already in July, but now it’s September and still here I am. Perhaps, God requires me to do something still, that’s why I’m still alive.

May God will for me to have more years and take away my disease, that I may still live with my family and Him for a long time.

On MCGI Leaders
To Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, thank you for the inspiration you give in my life. I didn’t know that Bro. Daniel was already a member of The Old Path [the Church of God] in 1989. I just learnt it recently when I saw him on television. I didn’t know that he was already with you.

To Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel, keep up the good work in searching for the lost souls. I know that with the Lord’s help, you will be able to find all of them and be with us. Thanks to both of you. Thanks be to God.

Bro. Roman and Sis. Mary Jane Mayo, 22 and 21, Former Catholics, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
Bro. Roman: I’m thankful that I’ve been baptized and have heard the truth, the teachings of God.

Sis. Mary Jane: I’m thankful because I’ve heard so many other religions before, but it’s only now that I finally discovered the true brotherhood and true faith to be saved, especially more [of] our preachers Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

My father, before he died, was a member; he was baptized in Dubai in 2006. He really invited me then. I was 14 and I underwent indoctrination for three sessions, but I stopped attending because I was really into going out with my friends.Till that time came when my mother became a member and I met Bro. Roman.

On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Roman: I’m thankful that I was baptized and that I heard the true doctrines of God. I also thank Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. If it weren’t for them – through watching on television and listening to the doctrines they taught – I wouldn’t be baptized now.

My message for Bro. Eli and Kuya (Big Brother) Daniel: I thank them because if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t hear the doctrines of truth that they teach.

Sis. Mary Jane: I hope they just continue their preaching so that many more will be convinced, and many more will find righteousness and truth. I hope many more will be saved like us who became members. We’re really so much thankful; no words can express our gratefulness. Thank You so much!

Bro. Ken and Sis. Paula Kate Barce, 17 and 16, Former KNC, Laguna Province

On Being Baptized

Bro. Ken: I’m happy that I was baptized. I’m really so happy.

Sis. Paula: I’m happy because we found the true Church. Then, we also understood easily what Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel teach. Also, our parents became [examples] to us because they were already members when I was still a child.

On MCGI Leaders
We hope that they’ll be able to persuade more people for the salvation of their souls.

Bro. Rustan Valdez, 31, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Being Baptized
First of all, of course I’m happy because I know that I’m guided now. Before I was baptized, I was worried about the sins I was committing. At least now, I have a guide.

Truth be told, I was able to watch through the INC’s (Iglesia Ni Cristo) show, Ang Tamang Daan (The Right Path), about two or more years ago. Then, I was able to hear Bro. Eli. It’s because of their doings, maligning Bro. Eli, so I got curious as to why they destroy his character. So that’s when I started listening [to Bro. Eli Soriano].

On MCGI Leaders
All I can say is that I will always pray for him because he’s an instrument of God for many people to be saved. Besides, I really think of him as a prophet so I will always pray for him.

Sis. Erlinda Valdez, 35, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Being Baptized
I feel happy, and it feels light inside. Though I’m worried because maybe my faith isn’t that strong yet. But of course, I’m still confident because now I have a guide. We always listen [Ang Dating Daan] too.

I got to listen through mama’s cousin. They were watching as they were members already, and I just joined them. But it was so fun to watch! I laugh whenever Bro. Eli proves other’s [doctrines] wrong.

On MCGI Leaders
I’m very thankful because my eyes have been opened. I was born a Catholic and this really helped me greatly.

Sis. Tess, 50, Former Born Again, Pampanga Province

On Being Baptized
I feel light, and I’m full of thanks. I was actually shaking when I was being baptized. Of course, you would also pray that you will be worthy of forgiveness.

With regards to teachings, you’ll see that they are true because the explanations are really clear and right, and all are being explained so you won’t get lost.

My cousin was listening at home, so I also listened. Then there came a time when it became addicting to watch him; you’ll feel as if you want to always listen. It was like, it’s there that it feels good to watch and not on other shows.

It was only a short time that I listened actually. It was only this past month, though I saw him on TV before. But since I didn’t know what it was, I didn’t listen to it.

On MCGI Leaders
I’m really, really thankful to Bro. Eli. He has care for his brethren, for his fellowmen for them to truly return to the Lord. Because if he didn’t study [God’s words], it’s like we owe him in a small way the enlightenment of our minds.

That’s why sometimes, we think of him as a prophet because in a person’s normal way of reading, you wouldn’t understand such things. But when he reads it, it’s truly very clear.

Bro. Jimmy Cueva, 42, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Being Baptized
What I learned here from Bro. Eli are the true teachings of the Bible, from the heart. That is my testament of him and that’s why I became zealous in listening to his words.

I first listened to The Old Path when someone gave me an invite, though I didn’t made anything of it then. I just saw him once on television until a brother invited me to attend a Prayer Meeting [in MCGI]. That’s when I found out that the teachings here are good.

Last year I belonged to a different sect. [But] I was Catholic [at first], then I became a Born Again member, but I also didn’t like it. Until I’m here now, and because I searched in the Bible what teachings are good, I found them here.

On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli, I’m really thankful that I understand your teachings and way of teaching. I also thank God that He gave me true love and lead me back to Him. I’m thankful because He healed my soul through Bro. Eli’s preaching. Bro. Eli, I don’t forget what you teach us.
