On October 9, 2022, the Music Ministry of the Members Church of God International (MCGI) held a special event called “Pagsulong 2022” which is a commencement exercise for all their trainees. The event celebrated the musical journey of the newly promoted members of the MCGI Music Ministry

It marked the joyous continuation of their God-given duties in serving the Lord through the singing of praises to God. The event also emphasized the promise of each member to steadfastly work hard, improve and continue to fulfill their duties, with God’s help and mercy, as written in 1 Timothy 4:15.

“Magsipag ka sa mga bagay na ito; tumalaga kang lubos sa mga ito; upang ang iyong pagkasulong ay mahayag sa lahat.”

— 1 Timoteo 4:15, Ang Dating Biblia

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

— 1 Timothy 4:15, King James Version

Celebration in the new normal

The event was held in different venues around the world and through online streaming, a hybrid setup in the new normal. There were venues with physical gatherings nationwide where the graduates convened, while overseas participants connected through virtual means.

The broadcast of the event emanated from the main venue which is the La Verdad Christian College Auditorium in Apalit, Pampanga. The hosts, Brother Vergel Villanueva and Sister Erlyn Dondriano, liven up the commencement exercise through their jolly demeanor.

“Pagsulong”, to continue

Singing for the Almighty is an important teaching of the Bible. It provides numerous benefits – both physically and spiritually. One of which is that singing strengthens one’s faith in God.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

— Colossians 3:16, King James Version

As the members of the MCGI Music Ministry lead the congregation in singing hymns of praises to the Lord in every Church gathering, they also, at the same time, help in strengthening the faith of the congregants.

Different event venues were connected through satellite or via the internet.

With a vital role in Church gatherings, Pagsulong 2022 was a special celebration that also served as a reminder to each of the trainees, who are now regular members of the MCGI Music Ministry, to always keep the faith, hope and love in their hearts while fulfilling their God-given duties.

A few days after the event, all the participants offered their heartfelt thanksgiving to the Lord during the MCGI’s Weekly Thanksgiving of God’s People on October 15, 2022. After all have been said and done, all glory belongs to the Creator of our beings.
