Serbisyong Kapatiran Ang Pagsasanay (SKAP): An Innovative Approach to Biblical Learning

The Members Church of God International (MCGI) has unveiled a brilliant, groundbreaking quiz show that will ignite the fervor for Bible knowledge. With the visionary concept of Brother Daniel Razon, Overall Servant of MCGI, the show takes biblical learning to the next level and promises to transform the way you explore the scripture, making it an exhilarating journey that transcends age barriers.

Co-hosted by Sister Arlene Razon, SKAP first debuted in the Philippines on September 4, 2023. Since then, it has become a weekly highlight of the Serbisyong Kapatiran (Brotherly Service) program, airing every Monday at 9:30 p.m. PHT exclusively on MCGI’s livestream channels and private social media accounts.

Brother Daniel explained that the Tagalog word “Pagsasanay” in SKAP means “exercise” in English. He said, SKAP is grounded in I Timothy 4:7’s call to “exercise thyself rather unto godliness.”

“But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”

— 1 Timothy 4:7-8, King James Version

In his own words, he said, “Mga kapatid, hindi ito bangayan. Ito pong ating ginagawa na ito ay bilang pagsasanay natin at kagaya nga niyan, we will be reminded ng iba’t ibang mga bagay na atin po namang dapat na matandaan kasama na ’yong mga aral, mga katuwiran, ’yong mga awitin, ’yong mga napag-uusapan, at atin pong mga napag-aaralan sa atin pong mga pagkakatipon.”

(My dear brethren, this is not a rivalry. What we are doing here is a form of mental exercise. From this, we will be reminded of various important aspects, including the lessons, the principles, the songs, the discussions, and the knowledge we gained from our gatherings.)

Members from MCGI locales worldwide can participate in SKAP. The quiz show consists of rounds such as “Name That Tune,” “Sing It,” “What’s the Verse,” “Complete the Verse,” and “Verse Quiz.” These rounds challenge contestants with tasks such as recognizing hymns and songs, accurately completing verses, and identifying Bible passages in diverse and captivating ways.

Each round begins with the hosts presenting questions, igniting a thrilling race as teams scramble to press their buzzers and offer answers. Notably, points are awarded differently for each round, adding an extra layer of excitement and strategy to the quiz show.

After completing all rounds, the team with the highest score earns prizes for themselves and their chosen beneficiary. The runners-up also receive consolation gifts, ensuring a rewarding experience for all.

By leveraging technology to foster biblical literacy, SKAP exemplifies MCGI’s commitment to immersive, uplifting faith experiences under the guidance of Brother Daniel. Inspired by the Book of Daniel 12:4’s prophecy of knowledge increasing, the Overall Servant tirelessly pioneers new media to make God’s words accessible.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

— Daniel 12:4, King James Version

Through diverse programs and initiatives, such as Bible Studies, Bible Expositions, and Mass Indoctrination sessions, MCGI equips people with the knowledge and insights to live by God’s will and attain salvation. From digital Bibles to social media outreach, Brother Daniel’s commitment through SKAP extends MCGI’s mission, making the Bible engaging for all ages.

SKAP has now expanded worldwide, with local editions recently kicking off its international edition in Singapore. Prepare to be captivated and get ready for a thrilling transformation in biblical education. This is not just a Bible study; it’s a high-octane experience that will leave you breathless with excitement.
