Newly Baptized Testimonials: February 27, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on February 27, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Marvin Rellores, 30, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I’m really just happy, and I want to learn the doctrines. I just watched him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on television, [then] someone invited me to the indoctrination sessions. [The doctrines] are really beautiful. I feel happy. I enjoyed [listening to them].

On Being Baptized

I feel clean; I feel cleansed. It’s like your doubts are gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thank you Bro. Eli. I’m thankful because I was given an opportunity to be able to [learn the doctrines] in the Bible.

~ o ~

Bro. Carlos De Leña, 35, Former Bible Church International Member, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I’ve long been listening to Bro. Eli, since he was on Channel 21, if I’m not mistaken. I also listened on radio, though I didn’t know the schedule… His [preaching] is really true. Sometimes, when I [participate in discussions], I would speak the teachings I learned.

It was only recently when I got an eye operation that I got an opportunity [to pursue becoming a member]. I was able to rest for one month. God willing, I’ll be able to resume work on Monday.

On Being Baptized

It’s like I got rid of my problems. That’s why I hastened a brother, and said that I wanted [to be baptized] today if possible.

Actually, I was supposed to go back to my doctor today for the surgical stitches to be removed. But I said to myself, “This is the opportunity also given to me [to become a member].”

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May he [Bro. Eliseo] live longer. I have not seen him personally though. His [teachings] are truly all from the Bible.

~ o ~

Bro. Antonio Jr. and Sis. Marivel Amata, 40 & 41, Former Catholics, Laguna Province

Bro. Antonio: For me, I first watched [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on the Bible Exposition on TV. Since then, as I watch him, it’s like I was seeing the truth.

Sis. Marivel: At first, we knew this as Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path], and not the Church of God. But like Bro. Eli has explained, it is the Church of God, not The Old Path, because [the latter] is the name of the program on radio.

He [Bro. Antonio] was the first one who told me about it as he often watched on TV. But I was the first to be indoctrinated. I was just surprised one day when he said, “Perhaps, we really must change our [religion].” Since he’s also my husband, he’s the one that I should follow. I felt that it wouldn’t be well for me to get baptized without him.

I’ve attended many religions before, as I have friends [belonging to different groups]… Our last was in Muntinlupa; we were just searching. I told my husband, “Babe, why is it lke that?” Every prayer meeting, they hand out envelopes.”

Though you’re just a guest in a Bible study there in my friend’s [church], they would give you envelopes for you to put [money]. You would state there what that is for, your “seed faith,” your prayer, and like this, like that.

Also, there were tithes there. Of course for me, what if you didn’t have money to place there? It was embarrassing because we were only a few people there. Only about 10 people attended.

Bro. Antonio: She then wanted to attend mass again.

Sis. Marivel: I already wanted to praise… I wanted to praise God, but I just didn’t know how.

Bro. Antonio: There were times that we would argue, because we didn’t have any spiritual guidance. She wanted to return to Catholicism, but I said, “I don’t want to. If you wish, go back alone.”

Sis. Marivel: “Where should we worship now?” I asked. Until the time came that we frequented watching the Bible Exposition on TV. Bro. Daniel invited [to attend the Mass Indoctrination] in February. So we attended, and continued with it.

Bro. Antonio: Of course, we saw the goodness here. We also wanted to set our lives straight, based on what is written.

Sis. Marivel: That feeling you get when you have a question and it’s answered based on what’s written; that’s what we like. We also investigated others, and we realized that what they taught was really wrong.

Perhaps, the Lord also willed for us, giving us [a chance] to be called, like “This is it. Your search is over. This is it. You have to [join]. Come here.”

Bro. Antonio: Then, there was a time when we felt something was encouraging us with what [Bro. Eli] was saying. What he said regarding graven images, I felt fear [of God] that time. I said, “So it’s like this. Why do some people do it, when it’s a great sin against God?”

On Being Baptized

Bro. Antonio: For me, I felt like the heartaches I had in life are gone. It’s like, the weariness and difficulties and the sins I had, I believe they’re gone.

Also, there’s you’re faith in the Lord that you will give yourself, your whole heart, and ask for forgiveness; all the emotional baggage that you feel towards your parents, your other friends will go away.

Sis. Marivel: I cried because as the baptizer was asking me questions, I felt that the Holy Spirit went unto me. It felt so clean.

That feeling that you’re here, and you’re sorry for what you’ve done. As I answered “Yes,” I repented already of my sins.

As was said, you have to bury those, and remove the bitterness [from your heart]. There were times before that I was like that: I would say something, but it wasn’t true inside. But now, it’s not like that, ever since I heard…

There are things that I don’t like at times. Sometimes, in my anger towards someone, I couldn’t even say their name. But now, though I say their name, no bitterness is attached to it.

I hope, God willing, that we will be able to continue with this. That’s why we must really continue [listening] so that our hearts may be filled with the word of God. So that we may not do again the things that we know we’ll just be sorry for in the end.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Marivel: We are thankful that there are people like Bro. Eli [and Bro. Daniel] who lead people to what is really right.

Bro. Antonio: I hope Bro. Eli will continue to spread the word of God.

~ o ~

Sis. Lydia San Andres and Sis. Angelina Keyser, 51 & 54, Former Catholics, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Sis. Lydia: Because I believe that what Bro. Eli is saying is the truth. Also, I read the Bible, and I believe it’s true.

Sis. Angelina: I saw that what he teaches is good. I really knew the Lord.

Sis. Lydia: [We listened] on television, on radio. We listened simultaneously as she is my neighbor.

Sis. Angelina: I would visit her house at times. She would read [the Bible] to me, and we would listen on radio.

Sis. Lydia: I have attended so many [religions]. I didn’t like the teachings of others. I like the preaching of Bro. Eli.

Sis. Angelina: The teaching here is better. That’s why it [settled] in our hearts and minds. It’s good.

Sis. Lydia: And he really reads it from the Bible.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Angelina: I feel light. It’s like I saw Christ in me.

Sis. Lydia: The same with her. It feels okay.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Lydia: I am delighted with Bro. Eli. Thinking about it, I feel like crying, because who are we for him to teach us like that? As I said, Bro. Eli is so kind. He teaches us the word of God, despite gaining nothing from us.

I would cry at times because I really read in the Bible that God gave each of us our own duties. Bro. Eli’s task is to preach, with courage, boldly. That’s not for himself. If you hearken to it, then thank [God], as you’re the one who’s going to be blessed, and not the preacher.

His status is okay already, preaching the good [word of God]. But for us who listen and obey [those words], it’s really a great thing. It’s for our own good.

In others, just give [money] and you’re okay. Here, it’s hard, but why do you still like it? Also, what’s good here is: When you join, you will really get rid of all vices. With others, you can still do them. Just attend; give if you wish. Here, it’s strict, but right. We won’t regret giving money because you see [what they do for] the brethren.

Sis. Angelina: Bro. Eli is so good. He’s good in preaching. I really like what he teaches: They go straight to the heart.

To God be the glory

Bro. Roderick Cruz, 31, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Depression came into my life last year. I lost everything.

I thought that the people I helped would become my support. It’s not that I was asking for return favors; I just thought that they would be my go-to in my time of need. But it didn’t turn out that way of course; they’re just men.

Almost every day, every night, every hour, I felt weak. I had depression; I felt like I wanted to commit suicide. That was [the time when] I was going to have my birthday on December 9. I was supposed to be a gonner then. Firstly, I was guilty of the sins I committed, and I also kind of neglected my family; though they were in a sense, supported. It’s just that, I lost everything.

I have long been coming here. It was in about 2003 when Bro. Joebeth invited me; he’s the husband of my wife’s uncle. He’s Bro. Joebeth Ola, the Church worker. But even before that, I’ve been listening already, since I was in high school.

However before, I was just really doing some half-hearted searching. Whatever good I hear, [I take it]; when I see something wrong, I look for another. It’s because I’m a “come what may” kind of person.

But that time, I was almost always tuned in to Bro. Eli, because I had no one else I could turn to that… I felt like I was hopeless; I had no one to guide me. It was only the words of God that gave me strength. I would watch on television, in my car, on the radio.

As I’ve said before, I lost everything: My job, my wealth, my loved ones; it was like that. So this is not a kind of decision in a sense. This is a calling perhaps.

I lost my job; I lost everything. I prayed that I would be given a chance. Then I had a project in Balintawak. So I talked to Bro. Joebeth and told him, “I want to attend the indoctrination sessions.”

They’re all true [the doctrines] actually. It’s just that we’re really [unmindful] in life. We’re just too… We just take [God’s word] for granted. As they say, “Something [trying] needs to happen first in your life before you understand.”

On Being Baptized

Now, I feel good. I feel light… Every time I think about it, I cry. I’m really sorry for everything I’ve done. Even as I was just going into the water, I was already crying, until I was baptized.

When I got out of the water, and this is not exaggeration, but I really felt light inside. All I want is, as I said to Him, “I want to serve.”

Actually, I want to be a Church worker, God willing. Of course, if He will entrust me with the responsibility as I was a former sinner, and in the eyes of people, someone worldly.

Though, I didn’t have any vices like smoking, drinking liquor; I didn’t have those. I didn’t gamble. It was only just womanizing that weakened me. I hope, I”ll be able to continue.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful to him. Actually, I always thank him, but there’s just no way [for him to hear it]. I’m thankful for the explanation, because among the rest – from what I have seen – he’s the nearest to the truth. I can’t say among all because I don’t know everything. But he’s the closest. He’s one of a kind.

Sis. Flordelina Clavacio, 51, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

He [points to husband] was the first to become a member. And then after three years, perhaps because of his constant praying, he really asked from the Lord that I became baptized. And I’ve been called by the Lord to become a member now.

I listened to the indoctrination sessions; I attended gatherings like Worship Services, Thanksigivngs, and such. That’s why I got encouraged to join, and because of the program of Bro. Eli on TV. From my listening, I saw that what Bro. Eli is saying is really right and true, because it’s really in the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I truly feel so clean today. I’m happy and I really feel cleansed.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue to be given more bodily strength and a clear mind that they may be able to spread to the whole world, to other people [the Gospel of the Lord], that they in turn may hear and understand it.

May they be given more health and longer lives that they may be able to encourage more to to join the Church, because it’s where the truth is.

~o~

Bro. Jonalyn Ruisan, 23, Former Korean Born Again Church Member, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

It’s because I want the wisdom that comes from God. This is the wisdom that He gave me. I want to serve Him and to worship only Him.

That’s what I always asked of Him before I went [to Manila]. I said to God, “I want wisdom, God.” I always prayed; I always carried my Bible with me. The Lord is really perfect because He brought me here.

This is the wisdom [I learned when] I joined the Church of God. This is [the calling that] I wanted to respond to, [something] that I also want to share to my parents.

Before I left, I shared [about the Bible] at home, because I believe in the Father in heaven. That’s the reason why I went here. Perhaps, the Lord also wished for me to be baptized.

I’ve never been baptized before in the [organizations] that I went to. So this is the chance for me to turn my back from all the sins I have left behind. The Lord said that there is [a chance] for us to change. This is what I wanted from Him.

I am thankful to God because this is the opportunity… He brought me here to approach Him again serve before His presence; every day and every night I [will] serve Him. I read the Bible at my aunt’s place. They would be asleep, but I would still be awake because I want to learn more…

My aunt Beth invited me [to a Church gathering], until I learned and got touched by what he [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] said. I felt happy and was crying with tears of joy. I can’t explain the joy I feel. I’m happy because … if you’re really true to yourself, you will feel the aches inside [go away].

On Being Baptized

When I was baptized, I felt so light. It was like I was floating, and all the hurt I felt inside are gone, like it’s back to zero.

You feel as if you’re starting again. That’s why I said, “I believe in You, Lord. I give you my whole heart and whole soul. I will serve You.”

This is the wisdom that I want. I can leave my parents, my siblings or anyone of my friends, my best friend; I left them that I may be able to serve Him now. I don’t want the wisdom I learned that [I received].

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that God will continue to use them in spreading [the word] that comes from the Father in heaven that we all may be able to believe the Lord God, the Highest.

I hope we may be able to continue and not lose this opportunity [given] by the Lord and Father, this chance that we may believe.

~ o ~

Sis. Angelina Sanchez, 54, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I wanted to prove something to myself.

My nephew invited me; he asked me if he could invite me [to a Church gathering]. I said, “Why not?” We live in Balagtas, and he went there. He’s from Parañaque, but he even went there to fetch me.

He said that we would just [listen] to the word of God, so I went with him. Then, I developed an interest in it, so I went with him again and again. I continued with it until I arrived at baptism.

On Being Baptized

I feel good. I feel light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope they may continue their service unto the Lord. And I hope that they will be able to help many more people.

~ o ~

Bro. Rolando Arellano, 60, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Ka Erning and I are friends. I was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

Now, Bro. Erning visited me one time and [invited me] to listen to a Bible Study; I listened. Until one day, I was also invited to the locale to hear the teachings of God.

They were very nice. The explanations were really well, very clear.

On Being Baptized

I feel unburdened inside, and I feel [peaceful] in my mind and in my heart. You will really feel it if something has changed in you.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their service to people will be longer that they may be able to lead many more people unto salvation.

They are instruments of the Lord. Actually, I listen [to The Old Path] on TV nightly. I would fall sleep listening, and my wife would turn it off. When I wake up the next day, I would just see that it’s already turned off. I always tune in to it. After getting exhausted from watching basketball and boxing, I watch it.

~ o ~

Sis. Maria Elena Macatantan, 55, Former Freelancer, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

A long time has already passed, but it’s only now that I’ve been called, [rather] it’s only now that I have heeded to it.

It has been a long time since [God was calling me]. Now, I finally answered; it really has been long overdue.

I used to smoke, and didn’t wear skirts; I didn’t know how to wear skirts. I wore jeans and was boyish. I didn’t fashion wearing skirts even in college. And also, smoking was a habit.

—-

I’ve been listening for a long time as my sister is already a member. My mother and brother are also members. I was the only one left out as I was in Antipolo. Whenever Bro. Eli speaks, “Your heart is hard. You’ve been listening for ten years now,” [I feel that he’s speaking to me].

Our mother is already 99 years old. I was still in Antipolo then, when my sister who takes care of her got sick. Since my mother’s birthday was on February 16, she wished that I would come. Of course, since nobody was there to take care of her, I took the liberty of doing the task. I’ve been here [Pampanga] since December 31st, and have stayed here for quite a long time now.

I’ve been here [ADD Convention Center] before. She [her sister] brought me to a Bible Exposition. I was able to ask a question directly to Bro. Eli even before. It was a long time ago, about 2002 perhaps because Bro. Eli was still here.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy and I feel light. Also, I feel as if I became more beautiful. It’s as if I’m very pretty.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, this is it, finally. Finally, Bro. Eli, I’m in the Church. I won’t get offended anymore with what you say about those who take too long a time to join, having hard hearts. With Bro. Eli, he speaks for all. Now, this is it; I’m here. Welcome me [laughs]. Thanks be to God.

~o~

Sis. Priscilla Payumo, 70, Angeles City, Former Assemblies of God Member

On Joining the Church of God

Actually, my husband has been baptized for a year now. We were indoctrinated together, but I decided to not get baptized then because I wanted to be certain of myself first.

There were many things that I couldn’t leave behind. I cursed a lot at working people; I was hotheaded. I didn’t want to be belittled; if they’re rich, I can also eat what they’re eating. If they will brag, I will brag the more. But now my belief in life is, as the verse said: Love your enemy. So now, those things are gone.

Also before, whenever I went to the hospital and see a sick person, I would say, “Oh, he’s going to die already.” But now, I feel different when I see someone sick. Different. It’s like I feel love towards my fellow. I would say, “Lord, please heal them.”

I seem to have also developed a sense of trust in others, because I didn’t want to trust strangers [before].

—-

Now, I try to push myself [forward], especially that I’m already baptized. I don’t want to go back to my former ways. Before, I couldn’t resist wearing lipstick and eye shadow.

I always had eye shadow on. I would apply black eye shadow to the lining of my eye so that it would look deeper. Now, I don’t anymore. My eyebrows are even tattooed. But I scrape it off to erase it.

I don’t anymore wear lipstick. And since I’m used to wearing lipstick, what I do now is apply [lip balm] so my lips won’t dry.

Now, my husband is very happy. He didn’t know that I was getting indoctrinated [at first]; I surprised him. I only told him about it during the sixth indoctrination session. He called right at the moment that [I] was in the locale. I told him, “I’m here getting indoctrinated.” He was elated.

But he was the more so happy today. “My joy has tripled,” he said. “Now, we can get married in the Church,” he told. My husband is already old. He even underwent a mild stroke.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful to God, and for the messages of Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. It’s like I didn’t know so many things before, and that my eyes were opened, my mind, enlightened. So praise God and thanks also to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

~o~

Sis. Wenifreda Peralta, 45, Former Catholic, Tarlac Province

On Joining the Church of God

Because it’s here where I saw the unique teachings that I did not hear from other religions.

I entered many [religions]. When I was 14 years old, during high school, I entered a Born Again group. When I already had a child, about 21 years old, I became a Baptist, and then returned to being a Catholic. It’s like I wasn’t content. I couldn’t find anything [to satisfy me]. I didn’t know what was true.

Then Sister Blanca invited me to her [church]. I asked her, “What do you do there, because I feel that something’s lacking in me.” Then, she said, “We have thanksgiving, and it’s like this. If you want, you can [attend]; you can listen.”

I replied, “I want the word of God. I just want to hear something because I feel that I’m not content, because my life is messed up.” She invited me one time. After that, I continued with it nightly, and I went straight into indoctrination.

Then I thought, I think it [following the doctrines] will be difficult. But Bro. Eli said, nothing is hard [for those who love God]. I was having second thoughts earlier, but he said, “We can rely on the word of God that He will not forsake us.” So I didn’t have cold feet anymore.

I didn’t listen to Bro. Eli before; I didn’t even know him as I was busy. All I attended to before was just going to the market, [selling] vegetables. All I minded was vegetables.

But I knew the words of God, from what I learned from the Baptist. However, it’s like I wasn’t content, like something was always missing in my life. I didn’t know; I couldn’t anymore understand what I was hearing [there].

On Being Baptized

When I went to the baptistery, I said to Him, “If I won’t be forgiven, please make a way for me not to be able to go into the water.” My feet even felt numb, and I said, “Please make a way.” I didn’t know what to do, whether I would have more sins or not.

With God’s mercy, until I went into the water, I was really crying; I couldn’t help myself. The Lord gave me an opportunity. I felt that following God is difficult; there’s always a hindrance.

[But] after I got out of the water, it’s like I felt so very light. So I said, “I was forgiven by the Lord.” Even when I was still young, I’ve already undergone trials that I wasn’t able to overcome; perhaps, I was really overtaken by them. I could say that because I wasn’t able to perform my duties properly.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, many, many thanks unto God. Because of you, I found [the truth] and was enlightened. I heard the words of God that have really gone into my heart. Many, many thanks especially to You oh Lord.

May the ministry be blessed that many more people will be able to know the truth. Thanks be to God exceedingly.

To God be the glory!

Newly Baptized Testimonials: February 13, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on February 13, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Kevin and Sis. Jaisel Medina, 24 & 23, Former Catholics, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

Sis. Jaisel: So that I may know the true Church of God. There are many differences [with our previous religion], many things that we thought to be right, but were wrong.

Bro. Kevin: Our reason is because there are many things that Catholics do that are wrong. That’s why we joined. The errors that we committed, we want to set right with God’s help.

Sis. Jaisel: Our boss is a brother in faith. We just watched him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on Youtube, as he listens to the [preaching] of Bro. Eli. That time, it’s as if there was someone who called us. It was my first time to listen to Bro. Eli, about last December only.

I was able to listen because my boss was listening to him. But even before, I’ve heard about him as my aunt is already a member here. That’s why they were surprised that we joined [here]. We were just new at work then. Whenever my husband retrieved me from work, he would be able to listen to.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Jaisel: I feel happy and light. It feels like no other because I’ve been forgiven of my sins. They’re gone.

Bro. Kevin: Like what she said.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Jaisel: Many, many thanks to them because they were used as instruments by God for us to hear the true doctrines of God.

Bro. Kevin: The same goes for me. [smiles]

Sis. Cherry Ann Paculbe, 19, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

At first, I really didn’t like the way they [the MCGI women] dressed; it seemed funny to me.

But then, through my older sister’s constant listening [to Bro. Eliseo Soriano], it’s like my mind got enlightened, and I listened as well.

It’s like I opened up to the idea and asked myself “Why don’t I listen?” Also, their lives changed. I just listened, and I knew that this is really [the one with] the true doctrines.

Her attitude became different. She was so outgoing before but now she just stays at home. She’s also mild mannered when she speaks. Before, she was always angry. Now, so many things have changed in her, as well as in her husband.

On Being Baptized

I feel so light, and my mind was enlightened.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

The same with her [points to Sis. Jaisel and smiles].

Sis. Erlynn Trinidad, 40, Former Baptist, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

chThis is where we learned true salvation. Then, what Bro. Eli teaches is really in the Bible.

We just watched on television, for almost a year now. Then, Bro. Jimmy invited us, so we went to the locale and got indoctrinated.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy, because at least, I’ve been accepted.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope he continues to pursue good works, and that he may be stronger to face all trials.

~o~

Bro. Gonzalo Bautista, 65, Former Baptist, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

All the members of our family that time were Baptists. But it wasn’t good. It’s not in [the Bible]. It’s unlike when I heard Bro. Eli, I really… Only, we didn’t see him [on television] for a long time. Also, we had just became Baptists then, so I wasn’t [that serious] in listening, so that didn’t push through.

In the month of November [2014], we were watching news in the morning [on UNTV]. It just so happened that I saw Bro. Eli. I told my wife, “Bro. Eli is on again.”

Now, in perfect timing, when I was at my in-laws in Mabini, Bro. Jimmy happened to be there as well; he was selling medicine at my in-law’s canteen. He was surprised to see me too and asked, “Brother, why are you here?” I told him, “She’s my in-law. How about you?”

Then I told him that [I was listening] to Bro. Eli and he told me to just continue. As I reflected about it, I said to myself, “Perhaps this is [God’s calling] upon me already.” So I pursued it.

I was able to bring my grandchildren there [to the locale]. The eldest of them actually wanted to be also baptized today, but he’s just 13 years old. I’m the one who takes my grandchildren to school.

Actually, I don’t allow for people to drink liquor in our place, because I don’t want them to see that. I’ve already seen that in our place, at a time when my [children] were still very young. They would let them [taste liquor]. Now, that they’re adults, they’re drunkards. Well, I just told that side story. But I pray that the day may come that they will be called, as I have.

On Being Baptized

I feel really cleansed. Of course, in my age of 65 years old, I’ve already done many things that are… things that we didn’t know yet [to be prohibited]. I hope that I will always be [clean], because we have an enemy, and it’s hard to fight him.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that he will be in better health, the same with Bro. Daniel. He’s really the one [who preaches] the right way that I have seen to be able to save the soul of every man. In this time, he is different from all other preachers. And I say this without hypocrisy, this is from my heart. That’s why I came here, and got baptized.

To God be the glory!

Bro. Flor Kenneth Resujento, 24, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

The reason, of course, is we all have our own responsibilities before God. So we must seek the truth; we must find where righteousness is.

You have to investigate all religions first to know whether which one is really of God. After you have compared them, you will know which one is true among them.

God will help you and make you feel in your heart what’s right. In these times however, you need to be careful because there will be many false prophets. So you really need to fulfill your duty as a creation of God.

It has been a long time since I was able to listen [to The Old Path], around 2002 when I got to watch on television. They had the program Ang Dating Daan.

On Being Baptized

It’s the day I’ve long been waiting for as it’s the first step that I’ve really been asking from Him: I’m going to ask for forgiveness; I’m going to serve truly.

So I feel happy inside because the Holy Spirit will correct all the wrong things I’ve done that I may return to Him completely.

Actually, I’ve wanted long ago to be indoctrinated. But I wanted to be sure first that I was really sorry of the sins I committed, and not just get indoctrinated and then turn again to your evil ways.

You must really be sure that you’re going to serve, because you will only get baptized once in the right religion. If you will repeat that, you don’t anymore have that baptism. You won’t get saved should that happen.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is that I’m thankful that God used them to fulfill the duty from the Lord to spread unto all nations all the teachings and doctrines of the Lord Jesus Christ.

So to those who are investigating, may they search for the truth. May they not waste their lives on other things. They need to find what’s the most important of all – to serve God – and seek the righteousness of God.

Bro. Reynaldo Rojino, 45, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Firstly, I have learned a lot of wrong things about what I thought to be right in my former religion. And according to my investigation, everything here is right and is written [in the Bible], has basis.

The other things I have also learned from watching, listening to Bro. Eli. I will never see a preacher like him in our time. You really can’t compare anyone else who will speak the truth, be it pleasant or not.

It’s unlike hypocritical religions now who will only speak pleasant things, especially those that will favor them and the religion they belong to despite being wrong that their membership may increase, even if it’s just hypocrisy.

Bro. Eli isn’t like that. He really says, “It’s like this,” frankly. That’s what I liked about him, his being frank, and everything is written, and has heart.

—-

I could say that I discovered him. I just felt it. Discovering is different from feeling that this person – upon my listening and watching him – is different; he preaches differently. There was a spirit that [encouraged] me.

Actually, I’ve been listening since the 1990s. And in that long period of listening to him, I learned about what he says, “having a hard heart.” I told myself, “I think he’s referring to me,” until many times passed by.

I should’ve been baptized in the Year 2000, but the problem was, I found out, there really are many demons. I was fond of vices.

In the end though, my smoking, my gambling, my drinking gradually ceased because of my listening and watching [Ang Dating Daan or The Old Path].

—-

Also, I have been with many… I said, “I will make friends with [members] … What’s in here?” Then I had an elderly friend named Roberto.

You see one time I was caught in a tight situation; I had no place to sleep in Manila as I’m from Bulacan. Someone invited me to the Transient Home [in Caloocan].

I had no money then, and I felt indebted to them. I told myself, “I will return the favor one day as I am indebted to Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path].” I still called it The Old Path then, and not Church of God.

I was able to sleep there, and I said, “I feel a great amount of debt here.” Imagine, I was three days there, and another time came that I was there. I said, “The people here are really nice.” You will really be taken cared of well.

There was a brother there; now, he’s my brother as well as I am now a member. I’ve been searching for him. He gave me money; he just said he was Bro. Roberto. He is already old, and kind. He was the one that opened the door for me to continue [becoming a member here].

On Being Baptized

I feel light inside, as if I’m a new person. I’m really happy, unlike before. It’s only now that I feel like smiling. Before, I always seemed haggard, like I was weary.

Now, I’m happy like “Thank You my God.” It’s not like before that within me, on my mind were only gambling, womanizing, drinking. That’s where my life revolved around. Now the only vice I have is food, the word of God, and of course, literal food.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope their lives will be longer, and may they be able to continue. I’m really very thankful that we had here in the Philippines someone like you who is different and true.

You’re unlike any other who is frank and says it all, be it good or bad… Unlike in other religions wherein they will also say what’s good, what’s favorable for their religion, all hypocrisy. They don’t want what’s painful. But that’s what can heal. You feel pain for you to be edified.

Bro. John Manliclic and Shiela Singh, 28 & 26, Former Catholics, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. John: We wanted to know the true word of God. We already want to do what He commands, what He wills.

Sis. Shiela: That’s also what I’m going to say. For me, this is the right one.

My relatives just told me about this. However they aren’t members yet, but they listen. So we listened as well.

Bro. John: We talked about it. “Let’s turn back unto the Lord.” We actually listened for a long time.

Sis. Shiela: When I was still in high school, my grandmother listened nightly, so I was also able to listen. Even when she was asleep, the television would be loud. Even if her eyes were closed, the TV could not be turned off as she is going to listen.

On Being Baptized

Bro. John: I’m happy as I’m leading a new life because all your sins have been forgiven and the Lord has accepted you. It’s delightful.

Sis. Shiela: The feeling is different. It’s hard to explain what happened.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. John: May the Lord always guide the service that you do to people. I hope that you will be able to encourage people to change, to obey the commandments of the Lord. May God bless you.

Sis. Sarah Jane Sababan, 24, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

I felt that it was time for me to become a member already. That’s what I felt.

I was only able to listen through my husband last year. It was continuously, until this time now that I felt that it was time already.

On Being Baptized

It feels good, like all my surroundings were bright. I feel light also, as if all my worries and things like that disappeared.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continuously give teachings from God, pleasant doctrines and good works. May they have good health.

~o~

Bro. Galo Albatera, 31, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

Before I have already been fond of listening about religious matters, until I was able to watch Bro. Eli on television. That’s when I got encouraged.

On Being Baptized

With the Lord God’s mercy, I feel light inside. I feel my worries about life have changed, unlike before.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope they will continue… I hope that they will be given longer lives by the Great Lord. I hope that many more souls will be saved, will be given opportunities [to be saved].

~o~

Bro. Juanito “John” Mopon, 74, Former Born Again, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I found the Church of God; it is perfect in the Bible as the Bible says it.

In my former religion in the Born Again, obeying is not much emphasized. Many teachings aren’t taught there. Others pastors are really for the money, but here it’s not. It’s you who will decide [what amount to give].

Since you are already cleansed from sins, you’re free; thanks be to God. And that is well explained here, especially when it comes to baptism. But in others, it is not so.

On Being Baptized

This is my third baptism, and probably the last, and here’s where I’ll stay. The teaching is good; it’s truthful.

I felt good after I got out of the water. As was said, “new creation.” Everything was forgotten; all was included in Jesus’ death.

In my family, all of us our Born Again members, down to my grandchildren. I’m the last to be a [Born Again member]. But now my [hope] is that I may bring them unto the true church.

My message to others is to just seek the truth, and the truth will set you free as was said.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I am thankful that he be given more strength and more wisdom, and also protection. Just continue. As what I got from what he says to some asking in Bible Expositions, “Brother, you are already old. It’s time you find the truth.”

Just continue the good work, because your work is really that you are really being anointed by our God. That’s all. Same with Bro. Daniel, to continue doing what they do now, helping other people no matter who they may be.

Bro. Arthur Rueda, 18, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

All the reasoning is in the Bible. I feel that the doctrines about Jesus are true.

My uncle invited me to the indoctrination sessions.

On Being Baptized

It’s like I felt relieved inside. It felt so nice and light. I prayed before I was immersed. After I got out of the water, the feeling was pleasant.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will have longer lives. May the Lord grant them so that they may be able to lead much more many souls.

Bro. Eugenio Centeno, 74, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

The preaching here is really good. It was my in-law who invited me here.

On Being Baptized

I felt good. I felt relived and it’s really a wonderful thing, really, really nice.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to [them]. I learned to [obey] the Lord.

~o~

Bro. Gilbert and Sis. Donna Genese, 37 & 36, Former Catholics, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Sis. Donna: I was able to listen to the preaching of Bro. Eli. I see the truth in what he says are based on the Bible. I haven’t seen any religion like this Church of God.

When I was watching [The Old Path] about one year ago on television, it wasn’t serious listening. Then one time, [I heard] something striking about my former religion that is really wrong.

Bro. Gilbert: As what my wife Sis. Donna said, we have been listening to Bro. Eli’s preaching before through my brother, Bro. Edwin, as he became a member first in our family. I can’t remember the exact year he has become a member, but it has been since a long time ago.

He had a severe illness. But I saw his faith; he didn’t let go of it. Despite his sickness that brought pain to his entire body all day long, he didn’t forsake his belief, even when we tried to bring him to an albularyo (witch doctor). His belief was firm in that it will be God who will give the solution to his problem.

So I was also able to listen [to The Old Path] as he watched on television, and I got to hear what Bro. Eli was saying.

I’m happy that I got to be with my wife here. At first, we almost argued about it as I didn’t want to go to church anymore. I just went with her because I wasn’t yet a member of the Church of God. When I didn’t go there anymore, she didn’t also. One time, I was just surprised to see that she had been listening too.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Donna: I feel light and happy inside. It’s like a load has been lifted off from my chest.

Bro. Gilbert: Oh I feel so light! After I got out of the water, I felt so much happiness.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Donna: I wish that you may have longer lives that you may be able to serve many more brethren. Thanks be to God.

Bro. Gilbert: My message to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is that may their health be always good that you may be able to serve many more people, not only here in the Philippines but also in different places of the world.

Bro. Jojo Andal, 41, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I have proven this to be the right religion. Also, I saw that their preaching is honest.

I’ve been listening since long ago on television. That’s when I got to listen first, on television. It’s been about 16 or 17 years. “Ask Bro. Soriano” wasn’t even on yet then; it was just Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path]. I attended a Bible Exposition in Calamba, Laguna. That’s when it started.

Before I got to listen, I wen abroad, in Jeddah. When I returned here, cable TV was already widespread. I got it installed and that’s when I saw Bro. Eli again, preaching. It was then that I decided [to become a member].

On Being Baptized

I feel good, like it’s a light feeling. I feel like a load has been lifted off my chest. I feel like I have a new life, a new hope.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope [they] will be stronger. May God continue to guide them that they may be able to save many more souls.

Sis. Elizia Samaria Mendoza, 18, Former KNC, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I believe that there is no salvation but in Jesus Christ only.

On Being Baptized

I felt nervous, because it was said, when you become baptized, there will be challenges that will come to your life, the difficult challenges. But I told myself that the baptism is the opportunity for me to change my life, to be of God.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many, many thanks because my mind, my heart have been enlightened, as other have been enlightened as well.

Sis. Josefina Gomez, 44, Former El Shaddai Member, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I am proud of what Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel are preaching. I’m proud because it can solve all our problems.

I was looking for a good television channel to watch when I found UNTV 37. That’s when I got to listen to the goodness that Bro. Eli is preaching, like on how we can solve problems.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy, and I really was in tears, especially when Bro. Eli said that all problems have solutions [with God], as it is not the chicks who will solve the problems, but the mother hen.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful, and we are really proud. I hope I will be able to bring my family here.

~o~

Sis. Liza Liza, 21, Former Catholic, Laguna

On Joining the Church of God

Ever since I heard the preaching of Bro. Eli, it felt good to listen to. I have been attending [MCGI services] in our place since then.

On Being Baptized

It feels good. It’s like all the anger in my heart are gone. Actually even before I was baptized, I already cried just upon arriving here, and also before I was immersed. I can’t explain what I felt, but my tears just fell from my eyes.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will live longer that they may reach many more people.

~o~

Bro. Manuel Bagtas, 57, Former Born Again, Bataan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I wanted to join the true Church. This is where I found the truth, and that’s why I got baptized today.

I came here because it was through him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] that I heard the truth. Bro. Eli makes sense. It’s like he is guided by the Holy Spirit because he is able to clearly explain what’s in the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I feel light, joyful, happy, like all my sins are gone. I feel that I have been cleansed.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their lives will be longer, and for them to be able to spread the teachings of God to the whole world.

~o~

Sis. Mitchelen Biro, 37, Former Iglesia ni Cristo, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

I saw here the true teachings.

My husband left our former religion, so I left it also. He was the one who brought me here. He was really a handog (offering) to the church. He just persuaded me there being his wife.

I watched on TV first, on Channel 37. Then he said to me, “I won’t persuade you to join; just listen. You will be the one to decide what you want to do.” He told me that I should decide after I finish the indoctrination sessions, and that they will not force me to join. We always watched; that’s the only thing we watched.

On Being Baptized

I feel so happy because I’m finally here wherein I will learn the word of God. I’m happy as well because it’s here where I found the truth.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel, many thanks for what you teach to us. It’s not only me who’s here today, but we are many – more than a thousand. Thanks be to God that you became the way for us to know the true God.

~o~

Bro. Michael Bundalian, 27, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

It is only here that I found the teachings that aren’t in other religions. Everything a person needs to understand about religion is being explained.

My father listens to Bro. Eli, so even when I was still a child, I already saw him. I really like it when he explains about the Bible. I was still in elementary or in high school then. I didn’t hear it from other religions, only here.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy and light inside. I’m really very happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many, many thanks. Thanks be to God because they are there to teach the true doctrines of God.

~o~

Bro. Rommil Mancio, 34, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I learned all the teachings that are in the Bible, all are really teachings of the Lord our God.

I started [listening to The Old Path] on television, on UNTV 37, about one year ago. In the morning, after lunch, before the KNC Show and after the news, I would watch it even in the wee hours of the morning when there was a chance.

I read the Bible, though I attended Catholic mass. Though I went to church, I didn’t kneel down before [the graven images] because I know the teaching that it is wrong to do so.

Someone invited me before, Bro. Romy of the Locale of Plaridel. He invited me once to the indoctrination sessions in 2007. After the first time, I didn’t attend because I didn’t mind matters of salvation then being a gay person.

Despite that, I continued listening on television. I watched it even as I worked in my salon, while cutting the hairs of my customers.

On Being Baptized

I feel so light, like all the doubts have all been gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many, many thanks to God for giving us Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel to preach the truth, because the teachings of other religions are not in the Bible. Sometimes, they would add or take away something from it. But their preaching are really in the Bible.

That’s really all I can say because before I didn’t speak of such things, about teachings or about religion.

~o~

Sis. Rowena Cancino, 33, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

Before, we just watched on TV. Then I realized, “Why is it when Bro. Eli answers people, it is really based in the Bible?”

On Being Baptized

My mind feels like it’s afloat, like I’ve been truly cleansed. I was even crying because… the feeling is really different.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful that because of [them], I was enlightened.

~o~

Sis. Christjesis Eileen Ramos, 21, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

Since 2009, my mother and father have already been members, so my siblings and I would go with them [to Church gatherings]. But among us, it’s only me who has so far been baptized. I’m the youngest.

This is actually the third time that I attended the indoctrination sessions. Before, I didn’t continue with it because such things wasn’t yet on my mind. Now however, I was really the one who… I told myself, “This is it.”

I intended at first to keep it a secret [from my family], so they would not think that I was just being forced. But of course, I had to tell my mother my whereabouts, as I would go home at night, so eventually my father knew as well.

On Being Baptized

I still can’t believe it, even until now. I feel like I’m not myself. I still felt like crying after it. When I got out of the water, I was just walking and walking and felt like I was floating.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I am thankful because you still continue to encourage people who do not know the true doctrines. I hope they will not tire, and may they continue to be guided by the Lord.

Bro. Alain Algallar, 38, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

I heard the true teachings of God. I learned the word of God through Bro. Eli, and by always listening to [Ang Dating Daan or The Old Path] on UNTV, on the Internet. That’s where I got persuaded [to join].

Actually, it was just an accident. In about 2003, I just happen to switch the channel there, and I got to listen. I doubted at first because I didn’t understand it. But as I continued listening to Bro. Eli, that’s when I saw the light, the real word of God.

Nobody invited me. I just went to the Locale of Dolores. I asked this from God. I wasn’t satisfied with my former religion; it’s like, I was confused, like there was something missing.

I prayed and I just found myself suddenly thinking about what it was like listening to Bro. Eli. Because of Bro. Eli, I heard the true word of God. Then, it’s as if my two feet just carried me to Dolores.

It’s funny because I didn’t have any background about The Old Path [the Church of God International]. I just went there and said that I would join. It was a Worship Service then on a Sunday. That’s why when they were asking me if someone had invited me, I told them “No one. It’s my own decision.”

On Being Baptized

It’s as if I didn’t feel any pain. During the indoctrination sessions, I went through a heavy trial. Actually, I felt as if I wouldn’t be able to go through with the baptism. But with God’s mercy, I was able to finish it.

The emptiness I felt is gone. Though the trial I faced was painful, I felt that all of [the pain] has gone away. I don’t feel it anymore. It’s like you’re at peace already.

On MCGI Overall Servants

I hope that someday I will get to know them, see them. I pray to God that He may guide me that I may last here. As Bro. Eli said, there are many trials, many things that I will go through as I walk here.

The reason why I joined the Members Church of God is because I felt in my heart that this is the true Church written in Bible.

Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel are really incomparable; their teachings are no doubt from God.

I do the laundry at night and I got to listen to [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on the transistor radio by accident. Then I felt as if something was moving me to seek more [about God].

I followed him from his radio to his television show on SBN, then on UNTV. When I had Internet connection installed, I watched on [UNTVWeb.com], on their websites. I watched his debates on Youtube, and I got the more convinced that there is no one that can gainsay Bro. Eli when it comes to [the Bible], because the truth is in him.

It has been since a long time ago as I delayed and delayed [becoming a member]. Perhaps the Lord willed to test me, as I am a teacher by profession; I mold children.

The hardest part was when I had a marital problem… That’s when I had more opportunities to do some soul-searching, and I got to listen the more to Bro. Eli.

On Being Baptized

I felt like a balloon freed from a sea of wind, like I was flying; I can’t explain it. I feel it until now. Thanks be to God.

My message to them [our fellowmen], what Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel said is right: That we should not delay [our joining] because it’s hard if we reach the dawn of our lives and we haven’t yet accepted the right thing that we should do.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, you’re always in our prayers. May you have longer lives that many more people will be saved.

On Joining the Church of God

I have been listening to Bro. Eli’s program for over a year now. I tried to attend an indoctrination session before, but perhaps God didn’t will for me to be able to go on with it due also to my work schedule. That happened abroad.

When I returned here in the Philippines… this is the opportunity… I must continue listening. So I completed the indoctrination, and now I am baptized. Thanks be to God.

My father was a member and I got to know the Church through him. He died a few days after getting baptized; that was in 2009. I thought about him and got interested in listening to Bro. Eli.

When UNTV launched its [radio] website, I clicked the radio option and watched through livestreaming while abroad. That’s when I got to listen to [The Old Path].

On Being Baptized

I was enlightened. The feeling felt so great; I can’t explain it. When I got out of the water wfter being immersed, it was just inexplicable. I felt so much joy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I pray that they will be given longer lives that they may be able to continue serving the Lord and in spreading God’s words to people. May they be able to go on until many more people become members of the Church of God.

On Joining the Church of God

My husband joined MCGI in 2004. We were in Baguio and he was working in Manila. I have been listening to Bro. Eli’s program for quite a long time now, and I was already attending a few of the Church services with my husband. He was the one who invited me to listen to the indoctrination.

I attended the sessions before but I wasn’t able to continue and back then I didn’t understand a few things. On my second attempt, which I resolved to complete, everything started to fall in to place and I understood all that I listened to.

The teaching here is something you can apply to your self. What you learn is something that you can do for your well-being.

On Being Baptized

I felt light of course. It feels different when you get baptized; it’s like you were unburdened. I was in tears.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful that I too became a member here.

On Joining the Church of God

I was able to listen to the doctrines during the three-day Thanksgiving as I was invited by my son Paul Darwin. I felt that I was being called by God.

I was happy when they became members when they were still teenagers. They are brothers; his brother is Patrick Ian. They became good children. Sister [Magdalena] is a witness as she is our neighbor.

On our street, the youths would fight each other when they’re drinking liquor, but they didn’t drink. They had no vices; they just studied and went here. I was happy.

Then they invited me, and I felt that I was being called by God. I have already been invited before, but I was waiting for my husband. With the Lord’s mercy, he will become a member too.

On Being Baptized

Actually, I decided not to get baptized today as my husband and I talked with each other and he told me that he will move out of the house [if I get baptized].

I was going to school earlier but I felt really heavy; I was just crying. I was trying not to as I felt embarassed, but my tears just fell from my eyes. I was going to school then on a tricycle, but my heart was really leaning towards going here. So I texted my son, I said “Kuya (big brother), has it started? Can I still come?” He then went to our school and brought me here.

It felt so good. I just let go of the things that held me back. I’m going to follow God now. I also thought that life is [fragile]; you might die tomorrow.

Thanks be to God for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel because God sent them to save lost souls.

Bro. Bonifacio Ramones, 68, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

I saw the difference in the doctrines; I’m from Catholicism, and even joined the El Shaddai movement, but I wasn’t content there. It felt like there was something big missing.

I was scanning the AM band on the radio in search for good Bible topics. I found him [Bro. Eli Soriano] on the far end of the radio [frequencies]. When I heard him, I found that what he was saying is okay. I verified it in the [Bible] books he mentioned, and saw it there, so that’s it.

It has been about two years since I listened on both television and radio. Then I verified that true facts are being said, so there is truth. Even in the Noli Me Tangere, in the Pasyon, in the Huling Paalam (Last Farewell) and in [Jose Rizal’s] Letter to Malolos Women in Meycauayan, I verified those. So there’s truth in it.

On Being Baptized

I felt light and I was crying.

On Joining the Church of God

Of course firstly, I want to know the Lord, that I may be used in a better ministry.

I learned that there are many things that I need to change in myself, [and] that there are many things that I need to obey according to [the will of] the Lord.

My husband is already a member, and he brought me to [Church gatherings]. He was the instrument I was waiting for that paved the way for me to become a member today.

He’s abroad, and when he is here for vacation, he brings me to the locale. He just comes back here every vacation. When he left, I just went to the locale on my own. I attended continuously until I was called also.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside. I hope that my getting to know Him will continue.

On Bro. Eli Soriano And Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue to teach us. They have different ways to continue to guide us with the help of the Lord.

On Joining the Church of God

It was through my friend, my townsfellow who is already a member.

When we met again, after not seeing each other for many years, it was like what she was telling me is different; she was different. Then she told me things and the teachings she learned.

She attends in Pasig Bayan Locale, while I in Silang, Cavite. She told me, “Try it there. There is a locale near your place, your apartment.

But even before that, I was already searching [for God]. I attended baptist gatherings, but I didn’t feel comfortable, as it seemed different. They were more on… Everytime they preached, it boiled down to money.

On Being Baptized

After baptism, there’s a feeling of calmness that I can’t explain. I was teary-eyed when I was being asked questions [by the baptizer] in the baptistery. Even as I was just entering, I felt nervous. But I said some prayers as I’m really willing. I really want to change for the better.

On Bro. Eli Soriano And Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue doing their works and may they be blessed.

On Joining the Church of God

This is the true one. Because in my over two years of attending Bible Studies, I really saw that this is the one that speaks the truth.

I attended Bible Studies before [in other religions], but they were heading nowehere. When they were asking me to join, to be baptized, they didn’t lay down the facts on what it is that I will be accepting.

This here is the right teaching. Others just don’t have it. It feels like you’re just hanging on air during baptism, that you will just accept Jesus Christ as Savior and that’s it. In the many religions I’ve been to… even how their women dress.

In one I attended, their women were wearing short shorts. So you really cannot concentrate. Also, the works of those men who really say that they are of God are vain; they really don’t do good.

But here as I told Bro. Gregg, and as my son, who got baptized here on December 19, 2014, told me — when you walk here, you have peace of mind. It’s unlike when you go to other places wherein you don’t know how others behave. The people there might drink and drink, become drunk and then become hostile. But here, you will have peace of mind. You know that the brethren have good hearts.

On Being Baptized

Actually, I’m a person who easily gets angry. But I felt so light that time; I didn’t think of anything that would work me up. Nothing. I just felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano And Bro. Daniel Razon

To our two preachers, may God always keep them, give them good health, and refrain them from troubles that may be caused by men. May they have more blessings, especially spiritual ones.

On Joining the Church of God

I joined the Church of God because I saw the true reformation, true knowledge of God, through my husband. So, it was my husband, who became a bridge for me to know God.

My husband got baptized on March 21 just last year. Then, that’s when I saw the big change in him. All his gambling, drinking were gone; he really underwent total change.

At first, he invited me, but I sometimes felt irritated because everytime we see each other, he would always mention “Bro. Eli, Bro. Eli.”

Later on, he somewhat changed his strategy. I didn’t hear it anymore. So I was like wanting to hear it, until the time came that I came with him to listen to the teachings. That’s when I learned the true doctrines.

On Being Baptized

It’s different, as I used to get angry easily. I had little self control before. But now it seemed to have broadened, widened.

[After baptism] he forgot to bring me my dry clothes as he was feeding these two kids that we brought with us, until the time that I was the only one left who hadn’t change clothes.

Before, simple things like that would irritate me. But that time, even I felt unfamiliar to the feeling. “Why wasn’t I irritated? Why do I understand the situation? Perhaps he was still doing something else.” So I proved that even I have been changed. I hope it continues.

Ever since my husband became a member, [The Old Path] is on his cell phone. So in the morning as I write, I would hear it.

Then one time, he brought the children with him. And oh, the kids enjoyed the KNC [Flock of the Lamb]. The time came when I was the only one left at home, so I also joined them. That’s when I started to listen.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, may you be blessed with a longer life to further your preaching of the word of God. The same goes for Bro. Daniel.
