Newly Baptized Testimonials: December 4, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on December 4, 2015 at the Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Danhill Afable, 22, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s the teachings. I watch Bro. Eli on TV, and I saw the wrong teachings, things that Catholicism does.

I’ve long been listening, but I have only listened intently and religiously for a few months now.

On Being Baptized

It feels light inside, and I really felt like crying because I realized all of my sins. It really feels light because you feel like you have been truly washed.

[I joined] to serve as an example as well to my parents. My papa was the one who invited me to listen to [Bro. Eliseo], but I was the one to be first baptized here.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to the teachings that you teach. They preach the truth that they know.

~o~

Sis. Aira Mendoza, 22, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

I know that this is the right one, that this is the truth.

My papa was the first one to become a member, and my other siblings as well with God’s mercy.

I have long been listening and I’ve actually been indoctrinated before but didn’t push through with baptism as there were still many temptations then. Now with God’s mercy, I was able to finish it.

Actually, now I suffer from depression, and I feel like I’m still fighting it now. I still have questions in my mind, but I fight it.

On Being Baptized

I feel light; I feel so light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

To Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I know that they are the true ones sent by God. They know the truth.

I hope that they will live longer lives. I also hope that many more people will be able to listen to them for their hearts to be opened and their minds be aware that the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is near. Just a little more time of waiting left, and everything will be all right.

Bro. Miguel and Sis. Rosanna Falcon, 71 & 53, Former Catholics, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. Miguel: Firstly, whenever I watch Bro. Eli I always hear from him the word “love”. When you have love of fellowmen, you keep in mind that what you do to your fellowmen, you also do to the Lord.

Also, in every question asked him, he reads the Bible for answers. He doesn’t give his own interpretation, but it is the Bible that speaks.

Sis. Rosanna: I feel in myself that my heart is content with the teachings because everything that Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel say is in the Bible. Also, they explain it and I understand it well.

I felt scared to not join because I discovered that worshipping idols is prohibited in the Bible. I was really a devout before in Catholicism, but when I knew that bowing down to graven images is wrong, it changed me; I found the truth here.

Of course, I want to become close to God because He is the true God. Even though I didn’t see Him, and truth is, nobody has, but we believe in Him.

And that is true love. Although you don’t see Him, you obey His great commandment of loving God above all.

On Being Baptized

Bro. Miguel: Actually when I was being baptized, I felt that there was a bit of heat by my head. It was as if I was partly seeing the light of salvation.

Sis. Rosanna: For me, I didn’t hesitate obeying because I was really scared of not being baptized. The truth is here and you feel that the teachings are really true. It feels good inside, like I felt cold and relieved.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Miguel: For Bro. Eli, I hope that he be given good health, a longer life and above all, may he be able to help the brethren more.

Sis. Rosanna: Many thanks for his perseverance in opening all to the true Christian faith. May Bro. Eli’s and Bro. Daniel’s lives be longer that they may be able to help more people like us.

~o~

Bro. Harvey Bonite, 34, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I started hearing from Bro. Eli the things about Catholicism and the idol-worship. I then wondered why people are bowing and worshipping graven images even though the latter cannot hear, speak, nor walk, as Bro. Eli said.

Deep within me, I asked, “Yes, why are people like that?” Since man was given the gift of choice, that’s when I started to ponder about things. “Why do people worship idols when the Bible prohibits it?”

That’s when I watched the television program and heard everything that Bro. Eli has to say. Time went by and I felt relieved whenever listening, and now I’m here, baptized; I didn’t want to delay it any further.

On Being Baptized

I am happy. I feel light inside because I used to have many sins before. When I was in Catholicism, all kinds of vices were available, because there were no prohibitions. It’s only here through Bro. Eli that I heard what the Bible do not approve of.

Also, thinking about it, it’s only here that I felt light, that my being became happy. I am glad, and my heart is content.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, if you are [reading] this, I am thankful for your patience in teaching all men to understand the word of God.

I am thankful that I am one of those chosen by God to become a member. Please, be patient with us. May the Lord give you a longer live and heal you of all sickness.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: November 27, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on November 27, 2015 at the Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Dario Saludo, 68, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I watch on television and listen to Bro. Eli daily. I felt as if he was the one who invited me to attend the Bible Exposition, and the Mass Indoctrination after that.

I continued with it because it was good, and I felt relieved.

On Being Baptized

I am so very happy. I feel as if my heart is oh so clean, like I don’t have any sins anymore.

It’s a pleasant feeling. When I got immersed in the water, I was trembling and cried afterwards. Perhaps it’s the Spirit of God.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli is a really good preacher. Everything he says is true; he doesn’t mingle it with word-mongering.

What he says is in the Bible. So when someone asks him a question, it’s the Bible that answers. He won’t answer just any answer, and that’s what encouraged me. The teaching is good — I learn from it.

Firstly, I knew God. Secondly, I learned the things that the Holy Spirit prohibits, which I didn’t learn from Catholicism. I just did whatever things I could and wanted to do.

Now I ceased from drinking, smoking, gambling, and listening to rumors. Though we live near a squatter’s area, I refrain from all of those things.

I’m wholeheartedly thankful that I became a member of The Old Path, of the Church of God.

~o~

Bro. Jeffrey Gaw, 37, Former Born Again Christian, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

As I was researching about religion, the time came when I found Bro. Eli on television, on UNTV.

I liked what I was hearing; it’s really from the Bible, and that became my basis. A person can just speak whatever he wants, so what matters is what he is speaking and where it is from.

On Being Baptized

It’s mixed emotions, but I’m happy. What’s most delightful about it is that I know that I have finally obeyed what the Lord wants.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thank you Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, because if it weren’t for you, we would not be enlightened. Above all, I thank God. To God be all the praise and thanks for all that they do.

~o~

Sis. Hanna Mari Galang, 15, KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

You will truly believe that [what is preached here] are the teachings of God. Also, no one can refute what he [Bro. Eliseo] is saying.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy. Thanks be to God

Now, I have a duty because when you’re not yet baptized, it’s like you are a non-bonafide participant. When you are a member already, it feels that your service is counted all the more.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May the Lord keep you and may you be able to propagate the word of God more. Thanks be to God.

~o~

Bro. Christian Mark Dulnoan, 15, KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I have long been listening to the teachings, and I feel that my conscience is urging me to join already.

The pull of worldly acts is great outside the Church, and so to strengthen my faith more, I listened to the doctrines. It’s like having a duty in the Church as well as keeping the teachings in our hearts.

On Being Baptized

Of course I feel blessed. Thanks be to God. I have repented of the sins I have done. I have a new life.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I hope that your lives will be longer. May He give you more strength every day. I hope that Bro. Eli will also be able to return here in the Philippines. Thanks be to God.

~o~

Bro. Alex Ernaldo, 49, Former Catholic, Bicol Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was invited by my boss to attend the indoctrination. After that, I went here. I liked the explanation of Bro. Eli. The teachings he preaches are really in the Bible.

On Being Baptized

It’s only now that I’ve been baptized and my body feels light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, I’m thankful that I met you as you are one of the servants of our Father God. Because of that, my boss was able to invite me to attend the indoctrination. Now, I’ve been baptized. I’m really glad with the many things that have happened in my life.

~o~

Bro. Rolan Eguia, 43, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. Jose Buenaventura invited me to listen on television, on the Internet and on Youtube. And all I can say is that everything is based in the Bible. All I know is that it’s in the Bible, and I believe that that is what is true.

On Being Baptized

I feet light. I’m actually focused what is said in the doctrines that I’m a new man, that I must not return to my evil works in the past.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that God will give them longer lives that they may be able to preach the word of God more and that many others will be lead unto The Old Path [the Church of God International]

~o~

Bro. Samuel Infante, 53, Former Abrahamic Faith, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I saw this through television on UNTV Channel 37 and heard about it on radio via La Verdad 1350.

Compared to other programs I’ve heard before, this is different. It’s the one that gave explanations on verses that are enough for me to be convinced and believe.

On Being Baptized

Before, I have been baptized as well and was immersed in water, but I didn’t feel anything.

However, I’ve been crying since baptism and I don’t know why. I can’t explain it. I’m happy to have experienced that.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful because they served as a bridge for me to know the Lord. Firstly, my thanks is to the Lord as I have long been searching for Him, and it’s only through the both of them that I found the Lord.

~o~

Sis. Cynthia B. Santiago, 51, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I heard about this through my husband on radio and UNTV since long ago, about 2008.

I have undergone indoctrination before, but I wasn’t able to finish it because of work. Perhaps, it wasn’t yet time. But with God’s mercy, He willed for me to be baptized now; my husband got baptized first.

This is where I really found the true teachings of the Bible that we did not see in other religions. In Catholicism, the Bible is not taught as it is in here. So our minds were opened to things of the Lord.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy and relieved inside. The feeling is just different knowing that my husband and I are now members of the Church of God.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

All I can say to Bro. Daniel is happy 32nd birthday. To the both of them, many thanks.

I hope that you will have longer lives that many people’s minds will be opened about the Bible, and become members as well. Please continue this kind of work. May you have longer lives.

~o~

Sis. Cristita Cuna, 69, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

In Catholicism, it’s different. Their take on the Bible is different. It’s like Catholicism doesn’t care what is written in the Bible, but just preaches what they want to preach.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy. I have no problems actually. All I know is that I’m really enjoying finally being here. I know that this is the truth from the Bible.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Of course I’m happy that I have found the righteous way in the Bible. Thanks be to God, because of them, I have learned the truth.

Sis. Eulanie Jean Rovillos, 20, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I saw the true teachings. They give the right teachings to us. There is nothing wrong with the teachings.

I was actually just surfing the television channels one day and I found his [Bro. Eliseo] program.

I was encouraged to join by his doctrines that he teaches. You cannot hear those in other religions.

On Being Baptized

Though it was cold, I felt so happy. I felt that my sins have been cleansed.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they always be safe. I hope that the words of God be propagated more in the whole world that other people may know what we have learned.

~o~

Bro. Joel Pastoral, 42, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I have long been listening to Bro. Eli, since about 2001 if my memory serves me right.

The doctrines are right. They don’t lack anything nor there is anything added. Just right.

On Being Baptized

I feel okay. I feel I know all truth.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful because I’ve long been longing to join. Time came when I got assigned in Batangas. I searched for the locale there. But since it was far from where I worked, I decided to be baptized here.

~o~

Sis. Andrea Santos, 17, Former Born Again Member, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

My father is an avid watcher of Bro. Eli’s program, The Old Path on television. As time went by, I got curious as well.

The first time I saw and watched Bro. Eli sharing the words of God, I said, “Wow!” I even thought, “Is he still human?”

He’s so amazing; he knows so much about the Bible. When we were in the Born Again, I knew many famed pastors and leaders, but none of them knows what Bro. Eli knows.

They don’t have that intensity of understanding of the Bible, so I’m really so amazed by Bro. Eli.

When we attended the Mass Indoctrination, I learned a lot. Summing it up in one word: eye-opening.

On Being Baptized

It feels light inside. It’s my first time to be baptized, because when I was in the Born Again, they didn’t let me. And I’m glad that this is my first time, because it’s really legitimate.

This is also my gift to myself before I turn 18. It’s God’s calling to me.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

First of all, they’re really good. I’m amazed by them because of their works. They don’t tire. They’re really a blessing to us.

I’m glad that there are people like them who have such a great amount of love for God. Without limits, without boundaries, they share God’s words. I’ll always keep them in my prayers.

~o~

Bro. Arnel Villanueva, 45, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It was my wife who really liked watching the program on television. She has been listening for about seven years now.

As she listened nightly, I was also able to hear the preaching as well.

Actually, I wasn’t interested at first as I was Catholic. But when I finally listened to it, I found that the teachings were right.

– – – – –

Then, my wife decided on it: She asked me when I would join so that we would go at the same time.

I was hesitant to join at the onset. Until after seven years, I decided. [Laughs]

We searched for the locale in Makati, but we didn’t find it there so we went straight to Shaw Blvd. Actually, it was more convenient for us to be there. And now, we’re here.

We are really thankful to God. I’m thankful for my wife as well for inviting me here.

On Being Baptized

It feels so light inside, like all of my problems are gone. It’s an inexplicable feeling.

I am hopeful that we will be able to endure until the end. Actually, I want to bring my children here now as well.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Of course, we know the kind of help they extend to our fellowmen. I hope that many more souls will be saved, not only here in the Philippines but in other nations as well.

Bro. Eric Villaruel, 26 Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I have proven that what Bro. Eli says is true. It is only here where I saw all the truth that aren’t in others. The teachings here are different than with the religions I have heard.

When I heard Bro. Eli’s preaching, all the questions that I had were being answered. I was amazed by him, because other religions didn’t have what he was doing. The righteousness as well that he speaks of is entirely from the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy because I have finally done that which I have wished to do: To return unto the Lord.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their lives will be longer and that they will be able to spread more the righteousness of God in all corners of the globe. May God the Father continue to guide them.

~o~

Bro. Ruel Villaruel, 24, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

Firstly, the teaching of Bro. Eli cannot be found in other religions. The wrongdoings of other religions, he corrects as well.

Also, you’ll see that everything is right because it is in the Bible. That’s why I believe in what he says because he reads it from the Scriptures.

At first, I didn’t mind the teachings so much. But as I kept on listening, I understood it and have learned many.

I started having questions since then, which got answered as I continued watching the program. So now, I have no more questions because they have all been answered by Bro. Eli.

On Being Baptized

I was crying when I got baptized. As Bro. Eli said, you must repent of the things you have done, and I got to think of all the sins I’ve committed. It was emotional.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Of course, I wish Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel more strength. I hope that nothing bad will come to them abroad. It’s because they are able to propagate the truth. May God the Father bless them more.

~o~

Sis. Sarrah Jane Veleña, 22, Former Catholic, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

I didn’t have any idea about this before. But my husband and his family have known about this for quite some time now. So when they attended the Bible Exposition, I went with them.

It was all new to me, but I was able to adjust quickly as the people are kind.

My husband had also just been baptized today, but he, like his brother, has long been listening to Bro. Eli. Whenever they would turn the TV on and tune in to Bro. Eli, I was able to listen as well.

On Being Baptized

It felt light inside, like it’s a new you, like you have a new life.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue helping our fellowmen that they may be able to bring other souls to God. I hope that this organization will continue to flourish as well. May they have more health for them to be able to do what they need to do.

~o~

Sis. Elinor Mabeza, 39, Former Catholic, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

I found that the teachings, the doctrines are really from the Bible.

I have been listening for about 10 years now, but my brother has been doing so through television since childhood. So we felt excited when we got to the locale as we have been wanting to go for a long time.

Actually, we had seen the locale already before. One time when we went to the town of Sto. Tomas, our ride dropped as off right by the Ang Dating Daan Coordinating Center there.

My brother then said, “Perhaps, it’s the Lord’s calling already for us to try and go in.” We then tried attending the indoctrination, and it went on from there.

On Being Baptized

The feeling was so light and really different. I felt that I had a new life and that all my worries and anger are gone. It’s like you were born again, problem-free.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue their work of encouraging souls unto salvation as there are many people now who are lost because of false doctrines. So we are happy that we have finally found the true teachings that are from the Bible.

~o~

Bro. Leonardo Patanao, 59, Former Born Again Member, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I believe that what Bro. Eli preaches is good and true. Before I have attended in Biñan thrice, when my friend invited me. However, when he went to the province I wasn’t able to attend.

My friend works as a housemate in a place near my work. Whenever I was on-duty, he would bring me to the locale.

I’ve actually been in a Born Again group, but I didn’t like their manner of things, so I left. Of course, you must go where the truth is.

Even when I was still in the Born Again, I was already tuned in to Bro. Eli’s program on TV. My nephew asked me why I was watching it. I said, “I like the explanations, so I watch it.”

The doctrines are good. I learned to respect those who are older than me. Also, I experienced already a trial with my boss. He asked me, “What’s important for you: Work or indoctrination?”

I didn’t reply, because if I did, the talk would just go on for long. Actually, I thought he wouldn’t want me to report to work the following morning. But he let me. Perhaps, it is the Lord’s doing. [Laughs]

On Being Baptized

It was a pleasant feeling. It’s as if I cannot remember anything else like ill feelings and problems.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will always be strong. I wish that their bodies will always be healthy. Because once their gone, nobody will lead us.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: November 6, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on November 6, 2015 at the Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Corazon Payoc, 46, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

For the longest time that my husband has been bringing me to the locale, I get to hear the teachings of God.

My husband never forced me to become a member, as I don’t want that, because I want to feel that it is God who is calling me.

Then, there came a time that whenever I would hear that the time is coming, I would feel afraid because I didn’t want to be left out. That’s when I realized that perhaps the Lord was calling me already.

I asked the Lord that He give me wisdom that I would be able to fully accept in my heart. And I felt that.

During a Thanksgiving service, it was announced that there was a Mass Indoctrination. I told my husband, “Pa, after such a long time, I think now is really the time for me to join.”

– – –

My husband has been bringing me to Church services since 10 years ago. [Laughs] At first it was just to Worship Services, but lately, also to Thanksgivings.

Whenever he turned on the television, I would hear Bro. Eli as well. Actually, I didn’t know then that he was a member already during that time.

He started reading the Bible at home then, and he would bring me and our children to Church services.

I think he’s 15 years in the Church already, certainly, more than 10 years. Before, it was only him who attended, and he would just bring us occasionally. But since two years ago, he was very consistent in bringing us to services.

I felt heavy inside because I always went with him and I was just listening to the teachings. I was only hearing the teachings, but I didn’t obey them — I think I was doing more sins that way. [laughs]

On Being Baptized

I felt so happy. I mean, even in just the congregational singing, I really couldn’t explain what I was feeling already. I just felt my tears falling.

Even until now I feel like crying because of so much joy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that the Lord will give them longer lives. May He will it that they may be able to propagate the good news, that many of our fellowmen will be saved like me.

~o~

Sis. Emilita Nanquilada, 30, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

This is where I saw the true teaching that I did not hear from any other.

I have fancied listening to religious groups of all sorts, but it is only here where I heard and understood the teachings that others fail to teach.

I was a Catholic before. Then, I became a member of the Mormon Church. I also attended the services of the Iglesia ni Cristo [INC], and the El Shaddai group. There have indeed been many already.

– – –

My mother and father started listening in 1997. I started listening then as well.

I had immediate interest the first time I heard the teachings. It feels good whenever I hear his [Bro. Eliseo] his words. So whenever they would listen again, I really liked joining them.

This time, I wanted to change already. I have forced myself to change for many times now. I told myself that I can do it on my own. But I’ve tried it, and I just can’t.

On Being Baptized

I cannot explain it. All I know is that I’m happy. Honestly, I feel can now carry all the problems that I couldn’t bear before.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to lead many more people.

~o~

Sis. Danica Mae Deang, 20, Former KNC, Bataan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I know that this the right one. There’s nothing wrong with the doctrines, that’s why I didn’t have any doubts in joining.

My father is already a member, and he has been bringing me to Church services since I was little. He also always watched on television.

The first time I completed the indoctrination, I felt that I wasn’t yet ready. There was something in me that still weighed things, even when it came to the seventh and eighth sessions.

But then in the last one, I thought that I really should already, because there is nothing you can say of the doctrines as they are all true.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy. It was a different feeling.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will still be with us for a longer time that they may be able to help us more through teaching us. I hope that we can overcome trials.

~o~

Sis. Rafaelle Patricia Gloria, 18, Former Atheist, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

I started out as an atheist. All of my family are Christians. It seems I couldn’t feel anything; I was out of place.

The time came when my mom was urging me to go with them in the indoctrination sessions. We would fight because I refused her invitation then.

However, when they had finished it and got baptized, I decided to get indoctrinated as well.

– – –

The first time I attended the indoctrination, I just went there as if I didn’t have any choice. I didn’t have any plans.

I don’t know what happened. I was sitting there listening to the teachings, and I couldn’t believe how I could be in such a place where I really felt the presence of God.

For quite some years, I didn’t acknowledge God, like he didn’t exist. But never did I imagine that in only a few days of listening that would be changed.

On Being Baptized

I felt so light, because before I felt so heavy. I used to think of attempting suicide. I didn’t know what to do with my life.

I felt empty then, as if I didn’t have any purpose. I just went to school and went home on a day-to-day basis, and it felt like I had nothing more.

However, when I was baptized, I felt that I then had purpose. I now know for whom I live.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful for them because they have been used as instruments in propagating the word of God.

Sis. MJ Bautista, 18, Former Catholic, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I wanted to learn the doctrines of God.

In this Church, [if you follow the commandments of God] you will be saved. Also, every time you attend Church services, teachings are added to you which you can use your whole life.

At first, I wasn’t sure about this as I was solidly a Catholic then; I thought it was the right religion. That was what I believed.

Then, I was able to watch him [Bro. Eliseo]. The very first time, I felt kind of bored because I didn’t want to listen. As time passed by, I understood it. I guess because at first, my mind was closed, but it eventually got opened as I kept attending.

Actually, I haven’t seen my father in a long time, as we [my siblings and I] got adopted. When I returned home, I saw that he was changed; his lifestyle was different as compared to before.

That’s when I saw that this Church can change people’s lifestyles, and I got amazed. Then one time I went with him.

On Being Baptized

I finally felt light, because before I really felt I was carrying this burden inside. Then, I got enlightened by the words of Bro. Eli, and I felt light after I got baptized.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Keep it up. Their explanations are so easy to understand compared to others, like the priests’. But with them, sometimes you’ll even get a laugh or two, and it’s very comprehensible.

~o~

Bro. Christian Figueroa, 18, Former Born Again Members, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Out of the many, many religions that I saw, it is truly only here where I found the reality that I must learn. It is here in this religion.

I was also encouraged to join by her [points to Sis. MJ] father. At first I was kind of bored, because I believed in former religion where there was crying and dancing; I was a Born Again.

That’s when I realized, “Why do I have to dance, cry, when I could listen and reflect on the truths that cannot be learned through dancing and crying, but in listening to teachings as what Bro. Eli preaches.”

I got interested in the doctrines and were able to focus on them. I just had that feeling wherein my knowledge, my awareness, my life views are broadening because of what I have been learning from Bro. Eli.

It’s because of what he says, people’s understanding of each other become bigger. Even though others do you wrong, you understand them.

On Being Baptized

Actually when I haven’t yet been immersed in water, I felt nervous. I don’t know what changes would happen to me once I got out of the water.

But before I got baptized, I prayed that the Lord may guide me. I prayed that when I get out of the water, there will be a new me, and I will have a new life, a new being.

After baptism, I felt I was cleansed. Though not in the physical way, but spiritually; I felt it. I felt the new me. I hope it will continue until the end.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

To join hands with them, to be with them until the end. I cannot say anything more for them, but that they’re good.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: October 9, 2015

Bro. Jonathan Librojo, 23, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s about time. I just felt it. My parents are [members] as well. They’ve been in the Church for more than 10 years already.

It was on Youtube that I was able to search for whatever [teaching of Bro. Eli] I wanted to listen to. But it was when I got indoctrinated, that’s when I started listening intently.

I learned a lot as it was so informative. It was really amazing. Everything that Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel say is right.

On Being Baptized

I was of course happy, and I felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Keep doing what you are doing. It’s really delightful to know that there are people like them who have been given such an understanding of the Bible.

Bro. Maximo Pedrigo Jr., 63, Former Aglipayan Church Member, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Ever since I was assigned in Cavite, as my boss was there, I always carried around a radio.

One time when I was sleeping, I was awakened at around 1 am when I heard the Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path] program. And I wasn’t able to get back to sleep anymore because I liked the question and answer portion.

Since then, it stuck in my mind that that program was good. Also, as I listened on the radio, I found that there are many people who are asking about the true religion.

Bro. Eli said that the true religion is the Church of God, not the Iglesia ni Cristo [Church of Christ], etc. I was assigned in Cavite for six years, and I listened to Bro. Eli the entire time.

— — — — —

Now, I heard on the radio that there was a locale near Blumentritt, where one of my children lived.

I rode the LRT and saw the signboard of Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path] in Libertad, and the thought of it didn’t leave my mind.

It was last month; perhaps the Lord God has already called me to be in the true religion. So I boarded off the train and looked for the coordinating center in Libertad.

I found a sister there and I asked, “Is this the coordinating center?” She responded, “Yes, what can we do for you?” At that moment, Bro. Eli was speaking.

I told her that I was from Malibay, Pasay City. She said that there’s a locale there by the 7-11 store.

— — — — —

That same day I went and searched for the locale. There were two 7-11’s there: One inside the district and one by the highway. At the onset, I didn’t see it. But the second time around, I found that it was near our place, and I went there.

I found a Bro. Kenneth there. I said to him that I wanted to be baptized or get indoctrinated. They indoctrinated me right then and there, and I continued from then on.

The first time I got indoctrinated, I was so happy and even when I was already home. My heart was enlightened and saw that this was what I was really searching for that was lacking in my life.

In my baptism today, it’s Bro. Philip who assisted me as I’m the only one who got indoctrinated at the time. Last week, he also brought someone here to be baptized.

On Being Baptized

I felt as if the heavens were opened unto me. I cannot explain now the joy that is in my heart. I’m really very happy. If it weren’t for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I might have been truly lost in faith now.

I hope that my family will follow. I want my wife to join the Church as well. I told her, “Come attend with me.”

She said, “It’s just debates.” I said, “No, you’re just going to listen first. It’s not a debate. People just ask him questions and he answers.

She replied, “Okay. I’m not stopping you because it’s good for you to change.” I said, “Yes, I’m already good to you, so please come with me.” But she told me that I should go first, and so I did. I will gradually try to convince her, for her to be in the true religion.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I have not seen any one who is like him who answers every bit of question asked him, actually even family problems. That’s why I always hope, I always include the two of them in my prayers. They were the ones who lead me here through their explanations on TV.

Bro. Zandro Gonzales, 45, Former Catholic, Rizal Province

On Joining the Church of God

This is where I saw the true change in a person, because many people have been changed by this already.

I was a drunkard back then, but when I heard the words of Bro. Eli, I voluntarily submitted myself to baptism.

I have long been listening to Bro. Eli, about a month now. But the first time, I didn’t decide yet on being baptized; I thought about it first. When I returned, that’s when I pushed through with it.

On Being Baptized

I feel pleasant. I feel light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful that I have now been baptized and for their teachings that have helped me with God’s help.

Sis. Fely Tabula, 55, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s on TV that I hear Bro. Eli Soriano. My husband watches him also and he told me to watch it as well.

Before I said to him, “I don’t want to watch that. I don’t want to listen.” Then one time when I did listen, there was a topic about Catholicism.

There was one who asked him about this and that in Catholicism, and Bro. Eli said that it is prohibited in the Bible to ask for fees for baptizing someone, and his lecture surrounded that topic.

Then I thought, when I was given a Bible in Catholicism it had payment. Listening to Bro. Eli’s words that time, I felt that my heart was touched and it got inculcated in me that these teachings are from the Bible.

Since then, I always listened to him. It started in September. I always tuned in to him and followed the topics he discussed.

In Catholicism, the teachings are not read from the Bible. A verse from the Scriptures would be read, but then that’s it.

— — — — —

I would watch a movie on TV, and finish it, but whenever 10 pm arrived, I would tune in until the wee hours to The Old Path program.

Then Bro. Eli had an invitation on TV to attend and listen in the Mass Indoctrination. So I searched for a locale in San Juan.

We my husband and I went to UNTV and they showed us where the locale was in San Juan. It was the former college campus in Domingo.

We saw the brethren there and I told them that I would attend the indoctrination on Monday. I felt then that I was being called. I guess it was the Spirit telling me that this is the truth.

On Being Baptized

I felt peaceful; it’s that feeling of being content inside, like you have no fear anymore.

Of course, you cannot dismiss the fact that sometimes there will be those who will persecute you. Actually, even when I wasn’t yet baptized, there were already such people.

I was accustomed to wearing pants and shorts, and never wore skirts. So when my neighbors saw me, they told me things.

I realized, you really cannot avoid being mocked, and you really will be persecuted, because they don’t understand why you’re doing it.

For me, it’s okay. That’s the way it is; there will be trials. They may do what they want with their lives, but I will continue with what makes me happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank him [Bro. Eliseo] because he was the one who encouraged me to join. My gratitude is great, because of course your life will be changed now.

You won’t see yourself anymore chattering or engaging in rumor talks. You’re just going to be at home and read the Bible.

I think my neighbors believe I’m sulking myself at home. They don’t know I’m reading the Bible.

My gratefulness to him is great because my life views have been changed.

~o~

Sis. Veronica Ballesteros, 23 Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I was invited by someone to attend the indoctrination, and it’s only then when I realized the wrong things that Catholicism is teaching. So it’s about time that what I believed in became right.

I have been listening for just less than a month. I think it was in the first week of September that I started listening.

I really had no idea about The Old Path before. But the impact of the doctrines was really great.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy and with such a light feeling inside, like you have no constant worries or anything.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue what they’re doing, and may they have more courage for their message to be heard by a greater number of people.

Sis. Maricel and Louise Gonzales, 38 & 19, Former Catholics, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Sis. Maricel: I should have become a member a long time ago, perhaps since about 15 years ago. Only, my husband didn’t want to as he didn’t want us to have different religions.

He said, “If it’s Catholicism, it’s Catholicism.” So that was the point where I got hindered. I later on got baptized at the Cathedral of Praise in Taft Ave. But I didn’t feel anything.

Then one time, I got to listen to Bro. Eliseo through TV, and there were those in our neighborhood from whom I got CDs of Bro. Eli’s preaching. You will really understand the teachings.

I soon attended in a locale in the city. She [pointing to Sis. Louise] was still 5 years old then. But then my husband really didn’t want to listen, and he would argue with me. Now, even if he does, it’s okay. I know he doesn’t understand it, but it’s needed.

Sis. Louise: Whenever mama watched the program, I would get to watch, listen as well, and I wanted to join as well already. So I followed mama.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Maricel: It feels light inside. I was shaking and I felt that I was a new person, and I can’t explain it.

It’s the first time I ever felt something in my life. I was truly sorry for all the wrongs things I have done, and sought the Lord’s forgiveness.

Now I feel that I really want to obey Him and walk in His statutes. That’s what I felt before: That I wanted to obey God.

Sis. Louise: I was shaking then, and I felt that there was something new in me that I cannot explain. It was just really a different kind of feeling.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Maricel: I hope that their preaching will last that many more people will be lead here unto the Church of God and be changed. I wish for more strength for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, that they may lead the many people who depend on the teachings they give.

Sis Louise: May they continue their preaching to people that many more may be awakened unto the truth, may learn the doctrines.

Bro. Joel Mercado, 39, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I found this to be the true religion. Also, this is where I found the answers that I have been searching for.

I first listened on television. Then, my wife became a member [in April of 2015].

Before, I would just drive my wife to the locale. She would invite me in, but I declined at first. Though, I felt even then that I wanted to join her there already.

One time, I did go with her. When I got there, I really liked the teachings in the Church.

When I was a Catholic before, we worshipped idols. Now, when Bro. Eli read the teaching concerning that, it hit me and I realized that what we did was wrong.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy. I felt that my doubts in life are gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, many, many thanks because I learned the true teachings of God from you. Also, I thank him for welcoming me here in Apalit. Many, many thanks.

Sis. Norie Anne Macabutas, 17, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s here where I better understood the teachings of God.

My uncle is already a member here. He invited me to get indoctrinated. Even at the onset of it, the reason why you need to get indoctrinated first before becoming a member of the Church of God is explained.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside. Before, even when I got baptized in the Born Again, in the Adventist church, I felt that I still had my sins.

I didn’t attend in those much, because I felt bored. I listened to the teachings there, but it’s here where I better understood everything. Here, Bro. Eli explains every prohibition of the Bible.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Of course, I’m thankful because there are preachers like them who teach for people to better understand the doctrines of God.

~o~

Sis. Mercedes Gutierrez, 32, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Firstly, I wasn’t really active in Catholicism because it was like nothing was happening.

When I got married and moved to Bulacan, I was able to watch on UNTV. I said, “What Bro. Eli is saying is good.”

I wasn’t able to follow the program avidly though. I was able to watch only when I had the time. But I said, “It’s really okay.”

– – – – –

At first, my husband said to me, “Oh, those religions are just all the same.” I told him, “Why don’t we give it a try?”

Before we got indoctrinated, many things troubled my husband, so we thought to not push through with the indoctrination. That time, Satan won; he won.

After his trip he told me, “You know, Ma, all I could think of during my entire trip was being indoctrinated.”

So that same night, we went to the locale and listened to the doctrines. That’s when it started until we have arrived to this point. My husband and I were both baptized today.

– – – – –

It was my first time to hear such doctrines. I realized that there were many dos and don’ts.

It’s unlike in Catholicism. I have aged and all and yet I didn’t know that what I was doing was wrong. I didn’t know it, because nobody taught it. It was only Bro. Eli who preaches what is acceptable, what is not, and what we should do.

On Being Baptized

I was crying. I was really crying.

I didn’t anymore hesitated. I said, “I’m really going to pursue this.” Actually, I’ve long wanted to, but many things just got in the way.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that his life will be longer as he is already old. I also hope that many more people will be able to listen to his preaching.

~o~

Bro. Romeo Tan, 53, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I saw in the truth in the teachings taught by Bro. Eli. Everything he said was undoubtedly true and has basis; all of it is from the Bible.

When he preaches, there’s nothing added nor taken away, but teaches what is written in the Bible. It is unlike in other religions wherein they either add or take something away, just make things up.

I saw this on Youtube, and I studied it first before joining here, whether it was right and whether it was really the words of God that are being preached.

– – – – –

When I found everything spoken is the truth—nothing lacking, nothing added, and with basis—I didn’t anymore have second thoughts to join this day, September 25.

This is my own decision. I voluntarily came here. Actually, nobody lead me here. I was formerly a Catholic.

In Catholicism, there is idol worship, praying to graven images; they even kneel before those things.

Thus, I thank God that despite being stricken by years already, my mind has been enlightened. Thanks be to the Lord that He lead me to the true Church.

On Being Baptized

My feeling was so light. Before I was baptized, I was reflecting while sitting on my chair. I just suddenly felt that my tears were falling, that I was crying.

It was like I suddenly surrendered myself to Him, to the Lord God and His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have repented of all of my past sins, of all the wrong things I’ve done.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will not tire in helping and leading all the lost souls unto the true Church of God.

Bro. Brian Almasco, 22, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was formerly a Catholic and attended mass. Whenever I hear the sermon of the priest, I felt that something was lacking. It’s like they were not obeying the Bible, that they were too lax.

When I was able to hear Bro. Eli on TV, I felt joy. I felt as if I always wanted to hear more. It was like, “It’s over already?”

Then she [pointing to the sister beside him], my fiancé, told me to listen to the indoctrination sessions. I listened until I saw that what is in the Bible is right. So I continued my indoctrination.

As I said earlier, in other churches like in Catholicism, in the Iglesia ni Manalo, there are many things lacking as they don’t teach everything.

That’s why when I heard Bro. Eli, I got enlightened. I said, “It’s really right, especially his Bible Expositions.”

On Being Baptized

I felt light. It felt also cool and even the breeze felt good.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I hope that he will continue spreading the word of God. I also hope that God give him more courage amidst all the persecutions of other churches towards him.

~o~

Sis. Jenny Enriquez, 22, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

At first it was because of my mother’s invitation for me to attend. But when I heard the word of God, I thought that: Before I was just obeying [my mother], but now I go voluntarily.

I felt that something had changed. Even when I was just attending the doctrines, my mind was already changed. I thought everything I knew was right, but I learned to be wrong.

There were many [doctrines] that I found really striking: the one in clothing; in rightfully treating others even our enemies, in not bearing any ill feelings towards anyone.

– – –

Now, concerning the doctrine of modest apparel, there are many rape cases in our times. I thought, why wasn’t that taught to us before, or why it was taught but not heeded to by [other religions’ members]?

I often went out in shorts before. Then, I felt shame because I learned I shouldn’t be wearing that.

Secondly, you must also love your enemy. Of course, it’s hard to treat your enemy right. But I thought, the Lord Jesus Christ did it. God willing, I hope I will be able to learn and do the same.

– – –

My mother was also instrumental in my becoming a member.

Last year, I was hospitalized. And the patient in the bed next to me was a member. So I got to listen to the teachings there as well.

Later on, I joined Bible Studies. I then searched in myself and found that I wanted to have a deeper knowledge of things, so I listened.

This is actually the third time I’ve been [indoctrinated], and I’m thankful that God willed for this to happen; I decided to do this because I’m thinking, the end of the world is near.

On Being Baptized

I felt that I was born again, like I was new. I felt like someone who had just been born without any care in the world. It’s a new start.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, thanks to them because they are instruments in teaching the words of God.

Of course, with the numerous religions that have sprung in our country, it has become difficult to believe immediately. But thankfully they are there, striving, sacrificing their own happiness, and offering it for the members of the Church.

~o~

Bro. Reynaldo Basto, 40, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I found the truth. This is where I found the truth, the works of the Lord God that are right. He used Bro. Eli for this to be established, for the message of the Gospel from God reach the whole world.

I heard about this through my neighbor, Bro. Rolando Torda, and I asked him to accompany me to the locale. He was instrumental for me to become a member here and serve God.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy. After I got baptized, everything felt clear; my mind was clear. My heart feels… All I know is that it’s such a happy feeling. I can’t explain the exact feeling I have.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, most especially to the Lord God, that I was given a new life having been taken out of a wicked past.

~o~

Bro. James Reece Jr., 47, Former Baptist, South Carolina, USA

On Joining the Church of God

The way I found the Church was actually through Sister Rochelle and Sister Joanna. I met them through mutual friends in the United States.

What I found was, every Saturday, they would get really excited to come here to Apalit, to the Convention Center. And I mean, it’s really for Saturday; it was a devotion and dedication I never witnessed before.

Where I’m from, church is about one or two hours, and it’s hard to get the congregation to come to Church every Sunday.

– – –

[But] every Saturday, they did not only want to go, but we’re excited to go to Apalit. So my thought was, “Why?”

Why are they excited? Why do they want to go? What makes them that devoted? So I went online, on Facebook; I found MCGI on Facebook, and I decided to send a message.

I wasn’t sure if I would get an answer, as it could take some time. I thought it wouldn’t get a very quick response; so I was surprised when I got a response almost immediately.

On Being Baptized

Oh, I don’t know how to explain it. I wish I had words for it. I told them when they brought me my clothes, because they asked me the same question. And I said, “I don’t have the words.”

Yeah, I didn’t know how to explain it. And I still don’t, even this far, even after some time that I got to think and reflect on it. I don’t know how to express what I’m feeling.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

First things first: Thanks be to God that they decided to do what they’re doing because in all of my years, in all the churches that I’ve attended, different preachers or ministers or pastors, I’ve never had two better teachers than Kuya Daniel and Bro. Eli.

When I started the indoctrination, as Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel started teaching the first doctrine, I immediately, grabbed a notebook and a pen, and I started taking notes.

At the end of that doctrine, I had six pages of notes. At the end of eight doctrines, I had 30 pages of notes for all of the eight doctrines.

I’ve never been taught anything about the doctrines like they have taught me. I was able to understand and know now how I’m supposed to live as a Christian.

I came from what in my country is considered as Southern Baptist. I’m 47 now, so, I started three years old. So, 44 years up to now. I have always been Baptist.

I felt happy, so very happy. It feels light inside.

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, may God lengthen your days. Stay healthy as well.
