The Old Path Launches in Argentina as New Souls Get Baptized in India

After just a few months of propagating God’s words in India, the world’s second-most populous country, Members Church of God International (MCGI) recently launched broadcast in the second largest country of South America – Argentina.

El Camino Antiguo, the Spanish version of the award-winning The Old Path (Ang Dating Daan) program will have its daily airing in Argentina’s airwaves via free TV, América, from 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. on channel 2; and on a cable TV from 4 a.m. to 5 a.m. The program started last January 17.

While broadcast efforts are being initiated in South America, the South Asian country of India has started its first baptism ceremony on January 10, 2011.

Bro. Eli Soriano during one of his live broadcast for The Old Path for his constituents in South America.

This was announced by Presiding Minister to MCGI, Bro. Eli Soriano on the Church’s Thanksgiving service last January 8, saying that the evangelization effort in India is now turning new souls into the fold of MCGI.

Piyush Luhar, one of the letter-senders who requested for a missionary from the Church, became one of the newly-baptized Indian last January 10. In a video testimonial showed during the Thanksgiving service last January 17, the former Catholic expressed his gratitude to God and to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel Razon, the Vice-Presiding Minister to MCGI, for their worldwide evangelization efforts.

“The teachings of Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel are very truthful, based on facts – scientifically and historically, remarked Bro. Piyush. “I want to thank them for broadcasting in India, to which I could come and become a member.”

Today, as a new member in the Church, his wish remains the same. He added, “I am requesting that the Church will send even more ministers to India to spread the word of God. I’ve experienced, after watching this program, that I found the true Church and the real meaning of the Bible,” explained the Indian.

Indians who have expressed interest in learning more about the Church are growing after the launch of Bro. Eli’s The Old Path program at the beginning of the second semester of 2010.

Simultaneous with the start of the evangelization works in India, MCGI brought the Spanish version of The Old Path in Uruguay in South America.

Vice-Presiding Minister to MCGI, Bro. Daniel Razon, announced that MCGI opened two coordinating centers in India.

“If you have plans of going to India, we now have coordinating centers there,” Bro. Daniel said before more than 100,000 members who attended the Thanksgiving service that Saturday in Apalit, Pampanga, a province north of the capital Manila.

He added: “As it is stated in the Holy Gospel, it is God ‘who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth’.”
